I'm suddenly glad my lady can't make it to ED...embarrassing PJ drunks

She's a huge Springsteen fan and has had the luck of seeing him in some intimate venues, as well as Dylan and N Young. Beautiful, peaceful, respectful shows.

Luckily she won't have to be exposed to the drunken, moronic loudmouths that PJ and Ed seem to attract...realizing its a small portion of the base...not small enough though. It would be embarrassing to have her witness it. But I'll put up with it...unless its someone close to me....

If it goes on in Milwaukee I'll just skip Chicago (and yes someone else will gain a ticket!)

Great setlists so far! Pumped for that...

Every alternative rock band draws a certain percentage of douchebags. I know Eddie fancies himself a folk hero, but he's really still just the "frustrated, agitated, designated, alienated, spokesman for the disaffected grunge generation."

Hadn't seen Ed solo before tonight and the NYC crowd was fantastic, as far as I'm concerned. I was in the 8th row and even Ed commented: "Looks like we left all the assholes in Boston" (or something similar).

  • I've been to a ton of Bruce shows- nothing but a bunch of drunk 40 year olds.

10 years ago maybe....based on the material they've released over the last 10 years I would love it if the all the youngsters still jackin off over Ten and VS would do it privately and stay away from the shows.

I know many folks who never listened to PJ but bought the ITW soundtrack and love it to death. That tells me theres a tad more to Ed than you care to give him credit for. I'll bet he'd laugh although if anyone called him a "folk hero"...

Very cool...hope that trend continues! Chicago concerns me, but maybe it will be a respectful crowd and a great night. I'll think positive thoughts. :)

I can totally see people who aren't into PJ being into Eddie's solo stuff. but I can't see those people going to his solo show. I imagine that most of the people going are diehards who hit up 4 PJ shows in a week

Drunkedly shouting songs out and screaming I love you Bruce at a 3000 seat venue during a largely scoustic show? Not according to my other half whose been to more Bruce shows than anyone on the planet I'm betting.

I can fully see people who aren't into PJ being into Eddie's solo stuff. but I can't see those people going to his solo show. I imagine that most of the people going are diehards who hit up 4 PJ shows in a week, minus the diehards who aren't interested in his solo tour.

Well I personally know of 5 people going to Milwaukee or Chicago who are not big PJ fans...they just love his solo stuff after seeing the film and getting the CD. One may be coming with me in fact.
  • I was in lower lodge, right center, there was no problem with drunks or loudmouths here. i actually was shocked at some instances how quiet it was, just people being blown away i figured.

Not really...I realize the majority of the crowd are PJ diehards...but some exceptions.

Maybe at ESB shows but in a theatre on a solo tour it would be a little different just like an acoustic Neil Young show.

I think the truth of the matter is EV solo shows attract all PJ fans and with that the drunk assholes... Ed has to learn it's going to happen time and time again until the drunk assholes learn that it's not a rock 'n' roll show.

The learning curve was pretty quick for both the crowd and for Eddie in Boston. The second night in Boston the crowd was much better behaved. He was pretty pissed off about the first night. Ed helped his own cause by shutting down the bar early (I think 8:30).

You know, why are these people always referred to as 'drunken assholes?' Why not just go with 'assholes?' I mean, just because someone screams shit doesn't automatically make them a drunken asshole, just a screaming asshole. I got drunk on Saturday's show and will again more than likely be bob and weaving tonight ;)..anyway, lighten the fuck up and enjoy life while you can..

    Great show
    magical at times

I cant blame people for talking since concerts can be social events
but I was surrounded by people who were more interested in talking that listening to the show. kinda killed some of the vibe

and please the fucking new Iphones are even brighter than regular cells

put them down and WATCH, LISTEN

As annoying as it is, try not to let it ruin your night. It's definitely hard at times, but if you try not to concentrate on it, you'll have a much better night.:)

If you close your eyes it's easier to concentrate on the music too.

    Dont believe the website.
The place is a dump, the fire dept shut it down for hour and half before the neil show I saw.
One bathroom for everybody and parking is a nightmare.

It does have some character and the sound system is pretty good though.

Ill be heading to NJPAC thank you very much.

    EDIT:
Another good thing is that you can go to Dinosaur BBQ before the show. Great wings!
