SEATTLE -- Flight to Mars, a tribute to 1970s English heavy rockers UFO featuring Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready, play the Showbox on Friday, May 10th for their 11th annual benefit concert. Proceeds from the show will benefit Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's Camp Oasis and Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness -- two non-profits that McCready continually supports.

Sub Pop band Poor Moon will open for Flight to Mars and includes a member who is directly connected to the cause. Guitarist Peter Murray has lived with ulcerative colitis for almost 10 years and is excited to help raise funds for CCFA's Camp Oasis.

"Having dealt with the physical and psychological challenges of UC as an adult, I can only imagine how challenging these challenges are for kids with the disease. The fact that Camp Oasis affords kids the rare opportunity to spend time and share experiences with peers facing the same issues, makes it an institution well worth supporting,” says Murray.

McCready and friends will open the show with with an acoustic medley jam.

The performance will be filmed and the VIP will receive a video memento. Song and instrument selection to be determined by the band and a Waiver of Liability must be signed to participate in this feature.

    Awesome show last night! I don't know why this thread didn't get more attention; maybe now that the show's done some new comments will roll in?
    This was my first FTM show and it didn't disappoint! I will definitely be there next year. Mike was awesome, as were all his friends.

    It looks like a Klausen but, Brad has not updated his site to confirm. The shirt was the birds head and the same writing. Van Halen's Eruption, You Really Got Me, and Everybody Wants Some was done as an encore and was tremendous! Mike just shredded the solo as well as Eruption! Just a great show every year, have not missed one yet!

    That was a fantastic show last night! It was my first time, and the night blew my expectations outta the water. Loved that everyone on stage seemed to be having such a good time - it gave the whole place such great energy. And, Star Anna, wow!!! Definitely a return trip next year.

    Thanks to Mike & his amazing friends on stage, and to all who were part of organizing and who contributed to the good vibe last night.

    Thanks! Those pictures rock. So happy I was able to make it down again, as I haven't been since the inaugural gig. Tim DiJulio is amazing. Stomping the stage so hard, I felt it two rows back behind the barricade, and he just fucking shreds. I was blown away.

    (I want to find who designed that messed-the-fuck-up website and ... deliver a strongly-worded letter with constructive criticism. :evil:)

    Great Show! It was really nice to see some familiar faces.

    Love how Mike jumps between the rail and stage and gets in there with the fans.
