Corduroy. Not the best vocal but it kind of has everything in that song that sums up Pearl Jam.

I think the ranges in his voice in Given to Fly are pretty sweet.

Vocal-wise, you could play Dissident. Ed really goes all out on that one.

I've heard people say a live version of rearview Mirror is a good one to catch the spirit of PJ. :)

Two of my FAVORITE PJ SONGS that really showcase vocals.

i would have to say and have done to people that want to know why pearl jam are so special not just ev but the fans and every thing about pearl jam is betterman at msg ....
the song it self is just mind blowing but the way the crowd takes on that song just beggars belief and always gives me the shivers ....
i cant think of a band ..a song...or the fans out pouring of belonging as that song has imo :D

Yep, I was gonna say Dissident. Or Release.

  • I think a good introduction to Eddie's voice in the sort of awe sense you're talking about is actually not on a PJ song, but rather Masters of War. I think it helps people realize his vocal prowess and presence when they see him doing something like the live performance of Masters of War shown here:

    http://youtu.be/r8GHBk_HSXg

From studio efforts, I think Indifference is a good atmospheric song with Ed's voice pretty distinctly on top of the mix for showing off Ed too. I'd not argue against those saying things like Release or Oceans or other such songs though.

I always liked the vocal on Sad. Good question ;) for the second part of the question, no doubt it has to be Rearview.
