Our Honeymoon Experience at Boston 1!!!

On July 11th, my wife and I were married. For our ceremony we used two tracks from the ITW Soundtrack – Rise to open and Hard Sun to close. Our reception featured many songs from the band. As one friend put it, it was the most spiritual wedding he’d ever been to.
Learning about the Eddie solo tour, we thought that we would try to get tickets for one of the Boston shows, since we planned to visit New Hampshire and Maine for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, with much disappointment, we were not able to get tickets from the Ten Club or Ticket Master, BUT, my brother (best man), knowing our wish, gave us our best gift of all, tickets to Boston, Night 1 that he purchased on Ebay. We were thrilled!
Just before we left for our honeymoon, I mailed a letter to Eddie about our wedding experience and our honeymoon plan, with a request for him to play our ceremony songs. The day of the show was our last day on our honeymoon and it certainly ended up being an experience my wife and I will never forget.
As we entered the Opera House and searched for our seats in the balcony, we were approached by a gentleman, who asked where our seats were and if we wanted an upgrade. We were a little skeptical at first, but then the gentleman said, “I work for Eddie Vedder, how about seats in the front row. He proceeded to say, “And, you’re wearing the right shirt (I had an Obama T-shirt on)”. My heart began to pound...It was hard to grasp what was happening.
The next few hours were amazing. Liam Finn was an exceptional opening act and Eddie, despite being sick, put on an incredibly intense performance. My wife, who has never been to a Pearl Jam show, said it was the most meaningful concert she had ever been to. Being that close, made it the most intimate experience that I’ve ever had at a show. To see the emotion in Eddie’s face and in his mannerisms made it so real and human. You can see in his face how much he CARES - cares about his performance, cares about his fans, cares about the story and meaning in every song.
After a magical performance of Arc, Eddie walked the length of the stage grasping hands in the front row. He started on the opposite end of us and worked his way down. After reaching down with his right hand to grasp my wife’s hand, I then threw my right hand out and he grasped it quickly with his left hand. He started to walk away, but noticed my T-shirt and glanced back at me. He then gave me the peace sign and walked off the stage for the end of the first encore (Ironically, I had another shirt on before the show, but my wife insisted that I wear the Obama shirt).
He then returned for an amazing performance of Hard Sun to end the show, and you could see the tears of gratitude in Eddie’s eyes as he left the stage.
So, I don’t know that Eddie ever received my letter, but we are thankful that both of our songs were played (I know that this is not much of a surprise since he’s played them both almost every solo show). I hope that he received or receives my letter so that he knows what an impact he has had on my life, and how his music and the bands music made our wedding day and now our honeymoon, a most memorable experience.

Stuff White People Like - Religions Their Parents Don't Belong To
White people will often say they are “spiritual” but not religious. This usually means that they will believe in any religion that doesn’t involve Jesus. The most popular choices include Buddhism, Hinduism, Kabbalah, and, to a lesser extent, Scientology. A few even dip into Islam, but that’s much rarer, since you have to make real sacrifices and actually go to a mosque.
For the most part, white people prefer religions that produce artifacts and furniture that fit into their home or wardrobe. They are also particularly drawn to religions that do not require a lot of commitment or donations.
When a white person tells you “I’m a Buddhist/Hindu/Kabbalahist,” the best thing to do is ask how they arrived at their religious decision. The story will likely involve a trip to Thailand or a college class on religion.
