I only knew of Borders, though I guess you could get it as a specialist order through WH Smiths or subscribe ($40 for 11 copies I think)

Is there a PDF? or do you mean the photos I posted? I don't really have time to type all 4 pages up. It's a nice piece but nothing particularily new I don't think.

The Pearl Jam story will be the cover story on the US editions of the magazine btw (may try to get it next week)

Thanks for the heads up Dottles. I read it in the aisle whilst queuing for groceries, then put it back on the shelf! Quite a quick read, a few nuggets, but really I think they could have done better, interviewing Eddie for one and a half hours. Good to see it though - thanks.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It was just nice to see them actually get a decent amount of page space in a UK magazine :D

Indeed indeed! It irritates me the attitude of the British music press, and radio, to Pearl Jam (though maybe the tide is turning!). For many years it's been a major event just to see them mentioned at all.

I would say that Pearl Jam are truly underrated by the British music media. Criminal really!

PJ20 does seem to be turning the tide a bit though. We've had the Classic Rock special, a Jo Whiley broadcast, and a Q magazine feature all in quite a short space of time.

I think the NME have always been down on PJ - never taking them as seriously as say Nirvana, and pretty much sticking with that early Cobain view of PJ - and this has pretty much defined the way the rest of the UK music media treat Pearl Jam. I say it's criminal because Pearl Jam have evolved so much since the early 90s that only the most lazy minds would stick with this particular view of the band imho - the quality of their output since the early 90s is surely good enough for them to merit a more serious appraisal in the UK media.

Yeah, Kerrang seems to recognise the band's qualities, then there is Zane Lowe on radio 1 who clearly regards Pearl Jam as being on the same level as the best of the bands he champions, from across the eras and today. Jo Whiley has her moments. Back in the day I seem to remember it was Melody Maker who were sympathetic to Pearl Jam, with the NME being actively hostile.

Ho hum - I'm just waking up, it's too early for stuff like this

Bought it today. The Q&A was ok, could have included a bit more and also more from Stone considering they quote that they interviewed him separately.

The thing that annoys me with the British music press with PJ is every article is the same. They go through the beginnings of PJ, Ten & Vs, the attention going crazy, PJ v Ticketmaster. I'm bored of that. There's more to Pearl Jam. If only the music press could be bothered doing a proper job instead of some half-arsed article everytime.
