  • no dress code for TIFF screenings. It's in a fancier theatre than a regular theatre, but not the 'gala' theatre. Some 'patrons' of the festival dress up for the galas and snootier screenings, but this is not considered a premium ticket and it's a rock documentary. Wear whatever you want.

  • I have a friend who has an extra ticket to sell for the Saturday Sept 10, 2pm premiere at the Princess of Whales Theatre. She looking to make money (i know, not cool). Figured i'd put it out there. If someone is willing to pay way above face value, hit me with a PM and i can connect you guys via email.
Just trying to hook one of you up with a chance to be there if you need that.

You're right - not cool. I really want to go, but I'm not in a position to for over a ton of cash. Even if I were in a position to do it, I'd feel pretty sleazy about it. If your friend has a change of heart, count me in.

for those who still want to go and don't have tickets ... there should be a rush line for this screening ... all the tickets that are kept for sponsors and vips that don't get used often get sold here ... the venue has like 2,000 seats so it's actually quite big ... if you are there early enough, i suspect there is a reasonable shot at getting in ...

Yeah. I work beside the Bell Lightbox (TIFF Headquarters) and there is a spot for rush lines that doesn't even start to fill until early afternoon. If you've got time to kill and you really want to get in, line up mid morning and keep your fingers crossed. You might get in.

Does anyone know when to get there and when will it end?

I know the ticket days 2 but does the movie start at two and you should be there at 1:30? Also, I've heard that sometimes after movies, directors and actors (band members in this case) field questions from the audience after the film. Does anyone know if that will be happening?

Any one have extra tickets for my fiance and I? We are flying in to town tomorrow and would love to see the premiere. I've been told I'm in the movie, from an interview I did at MSG last year, so I am anxious to see it.

    Thanks guys!

Either way, I hope everyone has a blast.

If anyone has a ticket for the repeat show they would be willing to part with for face or a bit above... Please let me know. It's my only opportunity to see the film on a big screen as none if the UK showings are near me.

if i was going to a gala ... i'd get there probably 30 mins earlier ... not sure about this ... would think the same ... if i had to guess - there will be some acknowledgement either from the band and/or crowe before and possibly after the movie ... 1% chance there is an acoustic song played ...

There are no bad seats at the Princess of Wales. I wouldn't worry about lining up super early unless you absolutely want to be able to pick your seats.

  • I know I may have emailed some of you, but i have exhausted all of my resources. (and i am a very resourceful gal!)
I have tried for the TIFF tickets when they went on sale, from alpine valley, and have scoured craigslist only to be asked for either $400 a ticket or to be screwed over..
anyhoo, I have traveled the world for this band and will be flying in from DC early saturday morning to catch the premiere. OBVI i need a ticket please.
I will be doing canada shows as well while im up there.
I heard about the rush line and i will send a friend to wait for me.
BUT i will take a chance and ask if anyone has an extra ticket for the saturday premiere, We can discuss the price. I am willing to pay a bit more, since i have seen 165 shows, i think i can bite the bullet.
    thank ya.
    peace love and music.

Waited almost an hour to pick up the tickets to the show. Went over to the tiff screenings upstairs to get in touch with a rep; awaiting a reply back. The 3rd floor upsatairs they were doing the pressconfrence for U2. I couldn't get in but pretty cool on that floor.

Waiting in that line I asked them a few questions. You can wear anything you want and best to be their earlier to get a good seat at the prince of wales theatre. Will probably be out there 12pm. Will be another great weather day tommorrow.

12pm... is that when rush tickets might be available? I don't think I'll get to Toronto that early, but best of luck to you.
  • Rush tickets generally don't become available until all ticketholders are in the theatre. So basically, they determine the number of seats they have left and then go to the rush line. They are the last tickets seated in the theatre. I don't want to be discouraging, but for a big buzz screening like this one, the availability of rush tickets will be very limited, the line-up for them will start very early and you will have no guarantee of getting in the theatre. But good luck.

Does anyone have a spare? I am already here in Toronto and I'd really, really love to go ...

Okay, and I just heard you need a visa to buy tickets :( And I also don't have the kind of cc that is needed there. Oh well ...
