PJ20 "alert system"
I was thinking recently about some of the previous festivals that I have been to and about how I would have done some things differently or regretted missing certain things while I was at another stage or getting a beer. I don't know if this is a new idea or not but what if an email list was set up to alert people if something of significance was happening on one of the stages. Such as mccready coming out to play with star anna... I don't want to say I missed that because I was getting a beer or waiting in line for the bathroom. If someone who was at the stage already when this happened could send out an email to people on a list so they could quit what they are doing and go there it would save some regret. I think this could be done with facebook. Ill be seeing star anna I was just using her as an example. Sound like a good idea?

I know someone mentioned about a month ago a PJ20 Festival app which would be a great idea. Quickly however alot of members were jumped on in the forums (myself included) about texting at concerts, filming, and all the blah blah self righteous bullshit of how we all should live in the moment and crap. If someone wants to put together an email list that would be great. What I have done is I communicate pretty closely with about ten different club members and we plan on just keeping in touch at the festival via text. If any of us see something worth noting (McCready jumping on stage using your example) we will send out a group message. I even went as far as recommending the availabilty of places to charge our devices but according to some club members it's such an outrageous and stupid idea even though they are at every airport and have been at other rock festivals in the past but I'm a kook I guess.

I don't know how to use twitter. Guess I have a few months to figure it out.
Did you get this model?
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/705828/ ... arger.html
ah...not too hard...
set up account
tell everybody your handle @NameYouChoose
they sign in to follow, and sign up to get alerts via text (if they don't have auto update feeds)
you 'tweet' and your followers get the message (supposedly) all at the same time
I just haven't figured out all the #keywords
and I think I keep messing up my RT (re-tweets) when I reply to Mike or whoever

Thanks!
 no!
I got this: http://www.popularmechanics.com/technol ... ws/4346458
can't find their website...but I bought the charger for like $10 on sale (obviously, they did not spend money on the commercials )

The dog is the best 'actor'!
ok, found the website...it's still $10-http://www.chargerforlife.com/
shipping is $10 :x so I bought 2 chargers (one black, one clear)
I did some research: 1 minute of pulling will get you about 5 minutes of talk time-I figure it's worth $10
bought it last week...still waiting for them...

Just something wrong with that description but I just can't put my finger on it.
Did you really buy the product??
Inside the actual venue is horrible, no matter which provider you have. 38k+ people in the middle of nowhere, in a valley.
It's better then it used to be. Nice board name btw.
Good to hear that!
Last year at DMB, I was in the pit both days, from 5pm on... my messages went thru here and there, but definitely still sucked :(
Thanks!
yeah...I can see some guy with the thing and somebody walks up behind him, and it will make them wonder.... :?
yeah, I bought them...I'll see how they work...I live in earthquake country, I'm sure they will come in handy more than once.

Leave some feedback once you get them. Sounds like an interesting product that might have some great benefit.
