I'm doing some research on commercial spaceflight, and I have to say it is fascinating.
There are tons of companies out there testing, researching and developing methods of travel to sub-orbital and orbital space (and beyond).

This link shows a sweet video of how some of it got started:

Maybe in a few years the average person could be a space tourist. I'd like to go when the price comes down a bit.
What do you all think? Would you want to fly into space?
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

I would love to, but I think the price will be to much for the "normal" person. Until then, I plan on visiting space often via more traditional means ... my dobsonian telescope and my 15 x 50 binos. 8-) :ugeek:

haha, cool man. An astronomer, huh?
Unfortunately, I doubt it will be cheap in our lifetimes.
But its nice to know that the folks who might be out of a job at NASA have other opportunities..

AMATEUR astronomer, to be precise. :D

For anyone interested, Google Earth has some pretty cool features that explore the night time sky, Mars and the moon.

the price will never come down to a level where a working person can afford space flight...well maybe but the paper trail of aerospace alone cost millions, parts are inspected and handled then inspected again...and again then built and inspected again, believe it or not the FAA is very strict..you don't want to mess with the FAA.

    Godfather.

I assume you mean in our lifetime? Spaceflight will be an everyday thing one day, I am 100% sure of that.
Sub-orbital spaceflight is much less expensive than orbital, and/or your typical trip to the ISS, and it will likely reduce travel time.
