2009 in Auckland. I had been recently questioning my choice to be a musician as my career, I wasn't sure if it was what I wanted, given the fact that I had only been to one concert before(it was small and I was very sick at it). But there was one moment, in Betterman, I was just staring at the stage, Eddie was singing, and thats when I thought "this is what I want to do, I want to be on the stage"
So thanks PJ for helping me decide
Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!
I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is!
I was a lucky front row center lottery winner for Vancouver 09 and if that wasn't enough...the song I've traveled all over with hopes to hear was played 3rd song in the 2nd Encore. BREATH!!! I had a bit of a melt down! Oh... and Ed gave me a pick. *sigh* Super fortunate!
new orleans - 4/8/03 - first pj show ever: mike pointed at me several times and ed made some intense eye contact with me that night. got a pick! oh yeah, ed messed up the lyrics to dte, i looked over at mike and he mouthed the correct lyrics to me. that was funny shit.
boston 1 04: only time i sat front row. gave stone a fist pump and he made a really funny face. he was playing so it wasnt like he could wave or anything. the wine bottle was passed to me, but the chick i was with got the last sip.
hartford 06: got a nod from jeff. waved at stone during yl and he gave me a big smile. got another pick!
honorable mention: got to say hi to ed and shake his hand before his philly 2 solo show.
saw my first show in stockholm, sweden (randomly) back in 2000. one of my favorite memories of all times is meeting ed, mike and jeff before the show. when they came out to play ed jumped straight into corduroy and i almost blacked out with excitment.

Cleveland this year. I was with my best friend in the world- her first show- and she was having the best time, totally losing herself in the music, in a way she never had before. We were having a blast. Then they played Smile. I turn around to her, freaking out because i finally get to hear my favorite song live. I look at her and she looks at me and she throws her head back and just screams
PPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLL JJJJJJJJJJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
She was hooked. It was one of the best moments of our friendship. Every once in a while she'll look at me or call me and just scream PEARL JAM. Its the best.

Far too many but being right under ed's nose at Glasgow 2000, Ed losing his lyrics in Given to fly and he looks at me shrugging goin as if to say 'where am i?' so we sang 'keeey to the looocks on the chaaains he saw' and him nodding 'oh yeah' and gettin back to it..
same show a bit later Stone started the riff for Once..eddie leaning over the monitors looking at me, i mouthed THANKS to him..he reaches into his pocket, takes out a pic and flicks it at me and i caught it..
still have it
During one of the Chicago 06 shows, we were sitting in the front row of the side stage 3rd floor balcony, at one point Ed walked over to the side of the stage and shaded his eyes looking up at all of us, my friend and I started cheering and waving at him like crazy, and he waved back.
Plus, the Chicago 09 shows were just mind-blowing. I almost fainted when they opened with Hard To Imagine and then went into In My Tree.

The moment the lights go down and the band is walking onstage in pitch black darkness, and we're wondering what song is fixing to send everyone into overdrive. Openong chords hit... and then the smiles across thousands and thousands of faces.
Seeing "Arc" played live Dallas 2003
Hearing Red Mosquito and Present Tense Live.. (my holy grails) at ACL in October 2009.
Cleveland 2010...Great show opened with Wash and closed with Indifference AND was 1st row in front of Mike thanks to the lottery. Slapped Ed five during Alive and my sister got handed a string Mike busted during unthought known. That night will be hard to beat.

Umm Bonnaroo when I got to hear Daughter for the first time live since my mother had died, and got to realize...I never have to sing this song again..was an odd experience. But life changing none the less.
I have played those songs so many times at parties and camp fires to people singing along with me. But to hear the masters play it and me sing along with them was one of those moments I'll never forget!
