I was looking at the new photos they posted from the Hootenanny for Health in the Gulf. I noticed Mike was signing some posters with his left hand. But we obviously know he plays guitar right in the right handed style.

I asked him about that... He said it just felt more comfortable to play guitar right handed and his first guitar was a regular. He said he throws right handed, too and is pretty much ambidexterous.
Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters is the same way... writes left, plays guitar right. He said it was because of his first guitar. And said he was glad because there are more regular guitars than lefties out there.
...
I wish I'd learn to play right handed... Chris is right, the only lefties at Guitar Center are the cheap ones. You never have a Martin or Taylor to play and are limited to the 199 dollar Fender and some cheap Yamaha.
Hail, Hail!!!

anywho, yeah a lot of lefties play righty because it's just easier and they don't have to hassle with finding lefty guitars.
my brother is a lefty and he learned righty for that very reason.
it's either that or you can go the Jimmy Hendrix route
