JUST EDITED

I was just cleaning up a bit and I found that I have 2 copies of this Official Pearl Jam Dissident 3cd set and am looking to unload one of the copies. One a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best I give the case an 8 and the CDs are all 10's if you are interested in this please feel free to PM me. I paid $60.00 at the time and that was probably in 2000. I'm not looking for the highest bidder but a price that would basically cover what I paid for the set + S&H.

NOTE:
I have decided to give the entire bid to a Epilepsy foundation. I was about 100.00 short of my goal and figure what ever I can get from this would be great to go towars my final goal.

Please PM me with how much you paid for the set and your general location, then I'll PM you back with what I'm willing to pay that will include shipping charges. Thank you!

I have always been tempted to try and acquire this 3 CD set "proper". I have the legitimate slimline versions of parts 2 and 3 but part one is the one that was labeled "Identical to more expensive import version". So it isn't technically the full original 3 part collection.

    Oh well. . .

I've tried to buy this twice on The Porch from active board members, and both times was scammed and had to have my credit card dispute it. I'm not suggesting that the OP is going to be the third one to do this... but I'm just saying any thread offering the Dissident 3cd Digipack for sale that I read has not worked out. :(

...anyway, how about you put a price up? I might be willing to temp luck a third time.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

That's how the Dissident collection came in properly. I'll never forget it cause I had to buy all 3 @ Sam The Record Man the week they came out to complete the set. There were stickers on all 3 packages (disc 2 & 3 were in slim cases, disc 1 was the digipack that holded all 3 discs which only included disc 1) that said which one's needed to complete the set. I don't remember Sony ever releasing one Dissident packages that included all 3 discs. You had to buy them individually.

I got them all separately but they were all in the thin jewel cases. The 2nd and 3rd ones have a label printed on them that says "disc 2 (3) of a 3 disc set". The 1st one doesnt have anything on it as far as if it is part of a collection.

On topic, I'll never forget the day that I finally found the last one I needed to complete the set (it was actually the 2nd disc, I already had #1 & #3). It was in a mall CD store in Tennessee back in '94. What a great feeling.

I didn't get the fancy digipak thing that came with disc 1. It's just a regular jewel case.
  • If anyone lives out in LA, I saw a couple of copies at Amoeba records, a record store out in Hollywood.

I love this box set, it is fantastic quality

I have this set and its one of my favorite pieces of my collection. Maybe because it was the first real rarity i got and it was at the time that the band was really "hay-daying" I believe I got this set in this order. CD 2 Slim Line.
CD 3 Slim LIne. CD 1 Slim Line...Then I saw the digipak with CD 1 in it and had to have it. Once I got that then I realized what the stickers with the song titles in the other 2 slim lines were for and I applied them. It was just such a cool set. I don't know many people that have this and I haven't seen it in stores ever.

If you have this opportunity to score this set... I'd do it. That show is SO FANTASTIC and the set is just flat out COOL.

I used to have that set. Someone stole the digipak out of my truck years ago. I have disc two still, which is nice. Thanks to the power of the interweb, I have the entire concert in good quality, so it's not as big of a loss.

I paid 60 dollars for the whole set. When I purchased it all 3 cds were in the digipack I didnt have to buy them all seperately.

the 3-parter is def cool/different. however in my opinion it's flawed. it's missing the intro (which is so rad), two complete songs, and has some of the banter chopped from the show. that's why I never saw spending so much for it. I actually had the first part , complete with the "fake cds" of part 2+3 that were made out of paper. but sold it.
the way I figure it is why not download the whole set over at pearljambootlegs and create your own artwork? 8-)

also have a feeling they'll release it officially down the line. you know how the Dead (sorry!) keeps releasing these old shows in nice packaging... I see this show being done like that one day.

I believe the reasoning behind the two tracks not being released on the dissident single where cover songs which were not under teh sony label or been given permission from the orginal band to have it on the album (I wouldn't doubt if those bands wanted money in return to have the songs on the album) and the banter just chopped out to save time and have a better flow from song to song.

I lucked up and found bought one on the bay for about $15. Since the person lived in Australia, shipping was expensive, but it's definitely worth it.

Not sure if it was just the UK or all Europe that it was released but I bought this sucker when it came out! I remember at the time as well there was a big billboard for it that appeared in 'Eastenders'

Anyway, I actually listen to the full show I acquired later as it is also missing all the vitalogy tracks (obviously being the 'single' for Dissident in the UK. So no Whipping, Satans Bed, Betterman etc...)

  • did you know that at the time (bfore this box set thing was released), that the CD bootleg of this show was the fastest made/distributed bootleg ever? it came out 5 days after the gig (well before the internet made shit like this go online within 24 hours.)

i bought that boot from a good friend who traded in such illegality.

the 3cd set is pretty cool. i never stuck the stickers in the digipack as, you know, im a geek for keeping the packaging as it arrived...

I got the complete set on Dec 1994 from my (then) local record store (which is no more). Best PJ show I've ever heard. Actually bought the KROQ version from ebay the other day. It's the complete show and hopefully good quality.

Funny thing is, the very same record store had this VS. promo item, a life-size cardboard sheep. Every Christmas they put it on the front window and put a suitable red xmas hat on it. :D And I remember visiting the store multiple times (in the 90s) always asking if they wanna part with the sheep. But they didn't wanna give it to me.

So come 2008 and I heard that the store was closing its doors. I went there and asked about the sheep and finally they said YES and I paid some 5 euros for it and now the sheep is doing fine in our living room :D:D

Aren't the 2 songs he's referring to Whipping and Satan's Bed? I think they were omitted because this was released before Vitalogy came out. I could be wrong though. . .

it's actually satan's bed and sonic reducer. so that's one new song and one cover. so you're both probably right and wrong at the same time.

How rediculous is the version of sonic reducer?? Must be the best and most furious version ever.
Dave A drums this song brilliantly.
