  • When unemployable came out I immediately thought of driver's seat. Not a far stretch at all. My opinion.

Definite similarity, there's a guitar line that's comes and goes and is very similar indeed. Not enough to be a rip-off, but definitely an influence I would say.

check out this song at the :55 mark, the similarity to Unemployable is uncanny:

"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

I see similarity in the Unemployable opening guitar line (is this a good expression) and the one that comes at 1:40 with the line that comes at 0:15 and repeats throughout the whole Driver's Seat. The line sounds almost the same to me. They were ripping off PJ even then. ;)
On the other hand, I enjoyed listening to Unemployable. :)
