How do people who work at cd manufacturing plants leak cd's?

This seems to be a major way cd's get leaked. But my question is how? Do workers get advance copies of records to keep as an incentive for working at the plant?

Or do the workers steal the record? And if this is the case, how are they able to get away with it? I would think there would be alot of security, cameras and personnel, and that bands especially nowadays would hire people to make sure that they plants didnt allow people to steal/leak the albums.

How is this able to happen?

It's not just the people that work at these plants. There are a lot of people involved in making and producing a record. You have sound engineers, people involved in mastering and production of the disc, band members who give friends advance copies, and even couriers that have access to the information. In this digital age, it isn't hard to stick a USB stick into a computer and siphon what you want.

There are also instances where the bands themselves "leak" tracks to generate press....mostly found in rap, but I'd be surprised if all genres don't do it.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

It's worked well for NIN and Radiohead.
