Liam Finn to Tour with Wilco

Liam Finn to Tour with Wilco and Release CHAMPAGNE IN SEASHELLS
August 14, 2009, 12:00 am
Liam Finn and his perpetual musical muse Eliza-Jane Barnes will tour with Wilco this fall on a ten show tour this October, beginning 10/1 in Iowa City, IA. The tour immediately follows the September 1st release of the pair's new EP Champagne in Seashells.
After forming a friendship with Jeff Tweedy and John Stirratt during the recording of the 7 Worlds Collide project at Finn's father's studio in New Zealand early this year, Wilco has decided to bring the young kiwi on the road back in the United States during an October tour of the Midwest.
Finn picks up where he left off with his debut I'll Be Lighting reinvigorating his studio-as-laboratory DIY ethos for Champagne in Seashells, again recording and producing all tracks himself.
Liam will bring the manic prophecy of his instrument-switching live gigs to new cities throughout the heart of the U.S. and follow with headline dates of his own.
"...his effervescent, swooning harmonies, and heavily layered my-studio-is-my-bunker production techniques are directly traceable to old Paul McCartney solo records."
-ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
"Liam never veers too far from a killer melody or winsome harmony, which he delivers with the fetching voice that would seem to be ingrained in the Finn DNA."
-LA TIMES
"He chops, blends, and twists his keyboards, guitars, electronics, and melodies into a shiny new beast that is both gentle and subtly feral."
