Hey all,

Figured this may fit in other music since it's not really a tech issue with the site or my computer.
For the dual discs (I hate these, not even sure if they make them anymore). Is there a way to rip a dual disc on a zune or ipod to get the audio tracks? I tried both sides and the only thing that would pop up was the dvd media player on the computer. If these are not rippable it's cool, just thought I'd see since we paid for the discs. The one I'm trying to do is "Devils and dust" by Springsteen, and also Rob Thomas's first solo album is like this.

Thanks so much any and all help is appreciated.

I've got a compaq presario with windows xp. Weird thing is the zune software (not the device) ripped about 5 songs and crapped out on that disc. I've tried to get the rest on the program to no avail. Now it only brings up the dvd side. If I insert the disc with the audio side up, the zune thing remaims unresponsive to recognizing a disc. Tried Rob Thomas's first disc and same deal. Not a big deal. I'd like certain songs on my zune or ipod, but if I have to listen to these discs old school, no biggie. :D Thank you for your response. I appreciate it. :D

IIRC, it's an issue with the actual thickness of the DualDiscs, because I seem to remember that there was a note on Devils and Dust saying that it wasn't meant to be played on slot-loading CD players (like in a car.) After reading that, I promptly returned the disc to the store as defective and downloaded it off torrent.

Yeah, I've had the same issue with the Talking Heads cd's I bought. It's an incredibly annoying pain in the ass. Given the number of slot-loading cd players (all macs, all cars), I can't think of a dumber fucking way to release music. I don't get why they Talking Heads can't just release their remastered albums on regular cd, the dvd adds nothing.

Exactly right. The issue is the thickness of the disc.
