I went to my first dance in grade 7, i got scared and stayed in the bathroom almost the whole night. When i finally came out, this song was playing, and i wandered around the dancefloor all alone. "It's too late, tonight..........

For some reason when I saw this thread I thought the OP was talking about U2's ONE.
Peace
*MUSIC IS the expression of EMOTION.....and that POLITICS IS merely the DECOY of PERCEPTION*
.....song_Music & Politics....Michael Franti

I immediately thought about CREED.
Metallica - One. Phenomenal song, start to finish.
I'll never forget when the video came out in my favorite format BLACK & WHITE in a warehouse with hair/long hair. Mixed in with the movie *Johnny Get Your Gun* and the one video from Justice. It was played mercilessly on Mtv and I watched as much as I could. I saw them 3 time on that tour great stuff.
I've got to post it.....Metallica's ONE

Maybe he is, for all the fuck we know. He obviously overlooked the fact that there's at least a dozen songs called "One".
maybe he's talking about the bee gees
One - Metallica
One - U2
One - Alanis Morissette
One - Creed
One - Ghostface Killah
One - Three Dog Night
One - John Digweed
One - Bustah Rhymes w/ Erykah Badu
One - Dokken
One - Ringo Starr
One - The BeeGees
Damn I didn't know there were that many.
Peace

Or Creed!
Well I was one song short of a dozen.
well i left out the songs titled "the one" so you underestimated it a bit
But One came out in 1988.

Not the good one
Sad video, horrible to be like that soldier.
I think the song can be a metaphor for depression or any other struggle it is that powerful.
