Sugarland covering Pearl Jam -

In addition to being a big rock fan, I'm also a fan of a lot of country music. I had a surprising experience last night (August 8th) in Houston. I was at the George Strait show at Reliant Stadium and the opening act was Sugarland (fronted by Jennifer Nettles). Toward the end of Sugarland's set, Nettles said that they were about to cover a favorite tune of their's from the 1990's. I expected it to be a fairly well known country song, but to my amazement they jumped off into "Better Man". There were 55,000 in attendance and I felt like I was in a very small minority of fans who knew the song. They did a hell of a job with the song and the crowd responded really well. Sugarland has recorded it for their new cover album that just came out last week.

So how did George sound? I've always wanted to see him live. The man is a country legend, for all the right reasons.
But, their version of Edie Brickell's "Circle" is outright amazing...
