Jones, Homme, Grohl in Chicago August 9 - tix onsale at 10!

Before you ask - nope. There is zero relation to Pearl Jam in this thread, except for maybe the fact that Dave Grohl was Tenacious D's drummer, and they opened for Pearl Jam.
The point is, however, that tickets to go see this new band containing John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin fame, Josh Homme from the Queens of the Stone Age, and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, go on sale at 10:00 this morning (half an hour from my time of writing), they'll be playing at the Metro in Chicago, and I figured some people would enjoy to know that!

It's all very cryptic, but this link comes from themcrookedvultures.com, and links to a twitter page, myspace page, and facebook page - which list the three members. Please, someone here, get tickets, go, and let me know how this phenomenal band does!

    Sure will be....been a rumor for a few years now....no leaks, nothing yet....enjoy the show if u can make it.

    D'oh! I figured since it was Chicago it would be Eastern time - guess not.. good I learned they're an hour behind BEFORE I left for the shows there later this month... that would've been catastrophic!

    I don't think that Oct. release date has been confirmed yet. Still all speculation.

    Sorry but with things like this rumors tend to fly like crazy so I don't believe anything till I have confirmation of it.....Wikiepedia is not confirmation to me.

    I was lucky enough to get tickets, so I'll be sure to post back after the show. Weird not knowing a single thing about it outside of the actual people, but it should be amazing to be one of the first to see it!

    I'm disappointed. first time I've been shutout all year (that includes 10C tix for 4 PJ shows and 4 of NIN's last shows including Echoplex). the etix website really does blow.

    drsluggo, did you just click the etix link to the shows page or did you go through somewhere else?

    most articles this week said the band will be touring this fall, so hopefully I get to see em then.

    It took forever because it kept crashing, but i just kept trying and got lucky. I'm not sure how I got through at the end, but I guess maybe a lot of people stopped trying?

    i dont know if its 100% gone yet or if they are still releasing tickets or what - they seemed to be slowly leaking out earlier.

    I didnt give up until they changed the red to Sold Out.

    I called Metro and she said they are completely sold out and probably wont have any "day of" tickets for this either.

    Here’s the good news: Them Crooked Vultures are in fact playing the previously reported show at the Metro in Chicago this sunday. They do in fact plan to tour very soon; we’ve confirmed immediate plans with an opening act we can’t announce yet. Their album is in fact coming very soon.

    Here’s the totally fucked up news: The promo poster and YouTube clip we presented yesterday are fake; both seem to be part of an elaborate hoax staged by that kid wax on the Rekords Rekords forum, who may or may not be part of a band called Dirk Diggler And The 12 Dwarves. We’d link to their MySpace with the song from the promo video, but fuck them.

    So the release date is not necessarily October 23rd. The album title is not Never Deserved The Future. Also, wax and his buddies are a bunch of testicle eaters.

    just the three of them...supposedly an album and somewhat of a tour will follow but nothing 100 percent positive.
