For those of you that don't like The Fixer, PJ could release a CD like Chris Cornell just did. I saw it at the library and picked it up to see if it is as bad as I had heard. It is worse.

i'm pretty sure the response to the fixer has been pretty positive from music fans in general. the only place i'm really seeing a lot of negativity is by certain posters on the board here. sucks that you wasted your time checking out the cornell album though. you had to know it was going to suck. he's like the male nelly furtado now. go figure....
  • its like the musical equivalent of the Ring. you're really curious to hear it, but once you do you wish you hadn't.

dont get me started on Fixer.

I agrre on the new Cornell. Picked it up at the local library and was really dissapointed. I already figured I was going to not be into only because of the new musical direction he took on it. Experimenting with new sounds and going a different musical direction is fine, but I don't think the dance/ hip hop / club genre worked in Cornell's favor for us that are used to seeing him crank out modern rock records. I have no idea how well the album has sold though, and how well it has done to the general public (Our opinions aside). I'm curious how well it has done mainstream wise though. I'm too lazy to look lol.
My friend listened to 30 seconds of the album and said he didn't want to hear anymore of it.- lol
On the fixer, I like it. To reilliterate my point up above, I considered "Binaural" an experiment and new direction." I didn't like the way the album came out. The songs came off far better live. The fixer is a good song. "Binaural has some great songs, but overall the "experimental process killed the record for me.

Kyle - To answer your question, the new Cornell album bombed. Didn't go over well with anyone. It's funny, I don't remember how much money they spent making that album but it was ridiculous and now they can't give the thing away. I am very happy to say that I have not heard the album and don't intend to. I like to remember Cornell for the artist he was and hope one day someone knocks a little sense into him.
