Going on a camping trip next weekend... going to have a CD player there with us and was wondering if anyone could suggest some albums to bring along.... (Aside from the obvious Pearl Jam / Into the Wild albums lol)

I love some MMJ and Sufjan Stevens for traveling/camping music, along with Neil Young's Ragged Glory.

Some Lynyrd Skynyrd (Pronounced 'Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd) is a great outdoors album, but it may depend on how deep in the woods you plan to be.

Ben Harper - Both Sides Of The Gun

I bought it from a supermarket in Spain whilst on holiday because nobody remembered to bring music with them, and we listened to it late into the night whilst sitting on the roof terrace under the stars. Considering all our differing tastes, everybody enjoyed it, and it suited the mood perfectly.

So basically anything that's moody, acoustic and stark sounding, I would also recommend:

REM - Automatic For The People
    Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska
Counting Crows - August And Everything After + Recovering The Satelites
Kings Of Leon - Because Of The Times
    Arcade Fire - Funeral
    Chris Cornell - Euphoria Morning
    AIC - Unplugged

Normally I would just make up a few cd's or playlists with loads of different songs to fit the mood.

My personal favorite whenever I camp:

    Neil Young - Live Rust

An obscure album to Pearl Jam fans, but a classic country album which is great is Marty Robbins - Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs.
