A while ago I started a thread "What state are you from". viewtopic.php?f=14&t=102765 Feel free to continue to add your state.

I wonder if the TC would be interested in putting up a pie-chart, graph or colored map of the world with the density of TC members per region/state. I'd bet they choose their tours based somewhat on a map like this already (as well as surfing locations) and it would be interesting to see.

Any chance of having you post this Tim?
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Years ago someone started a google map and had everyone put in where they were from and it was interesting. Some from all over the world. But, the most by far were where most would suspect-the NE of the US. :)

Couldn't the 10C just do this with their own information from everyone's mailing addresses, which they have in a database?

Facebook has a "Cities I've been to" app. I wonder if the 10C couldn't add that to their FB page and allow fans to mark their cities?

    Phoenix in da house!
(but not on the tour sched, sigh) :(

given that the question of how many 10c members there are, period, has never been answered...i think that is our answer. it has been posed many times, and even the very question you have....how many per state/region/country.....tho i've never seen the request for a pie chart before (novel idea! ;)).

don't mean to piss on your cheerios....i'd be interested in those stats as well purely from a curiosity perspective.....but i just don't think 10c has any interest in divulging this info for whtever reason. or maybe they just can't be arsed with pie-charts and shit.

    and of course they can.
it's not a question of can, it's a question of desire to do so. ;)

I swear I saw a breakdown of 10C members by country a couple years back...unless I'm dreaming. state-by-state tho? Might be asking a bit much...

I know TC has zero benefit from listing it.

It just would be interesting AND assuming the south has much fewer TC members, it would also sell their case of why they don't play there.

Is this reasonable to assume? Maybe based on the fact that they haven't played down there regularly for so long, but I don't know that there's any reason to believe that the distribution of fans would really be different between a major Southern market and one in the North East, Mid West, or West Coast.

    Are you on to something?

back in the days when their was a 'Rumor Pit' , the one from 2003 had:

Q: How many fan club members are there in South America? UK?
    A: UK = 900. South America = a couple of hundred.

incase someone was interested. this is of course 6 years ago now though.

i don't think 10c or pj feel any need to 'sell their case' as to why they do....anything........;)

while i agree it would be very interesting information, againm for whatever reason....10c does not seem interested in divulging said information. i do not think it's a question of feeling a need to exonerate themselves, illustrate the 'why's of their choices as a band, etc. i mean, cmon.,..honestly, they don't owe us that. it would be cool tho, and easy enough for them to do, absolutely! dunno if they'd embrace your color, pie-charts tho. ;)

and i too seem to recall reading some stats my early years around here....2002, 2003? with some stats about memberships around the world. how true they were, what the source was, i have no idea....

I pull raw data from databases into MS Excel spreadsheets all the time, where I then manipulate them to get the info I want. It ain't that hard.

But then I have an incentive. I get paid to do it. :)

You can go on Google Maps and add a little tac thingy with everyone. You can click it and it will display their name. My college did it for this years incoming freshman class.
