I have 3 kids too. But no way am I going to miss out on the selection of shows this time around in Australia. Expenses be damned! Bring on the tour!

Father: Pearl Jam is touring. There's no more work. We're destitute.
    Children: Ohhhhh.
Father: I'm afraid I have no choice but to sell you all for scientific experiments.

Honestly, if you can't afford a $70-80 ticket, you probably can't afford a $50 ticket and you should be more concerned with other things.
  • I have to say that we don't even have childen (just me, audiodave and two kittyboys in the house) and we can't afford to get tickets.
We didn't even bother trying as we're already going to O2 and MEN and we'd rather go to those comfortably, instead of stretching the funds so far that we're constantly worried about money when really, we should just be looking forward to the shows and enjoying ourselves. At the end of the day the two shows we are going to will be costing us in excess of £400 with tickets, hotel, travel etc... we could go abroad for less. We have to be realistic in this economic climate.
Yeah we have credit cards but lets be honest, do I really want to put myself in debt for a show when my job isn't secure and I have bills to pay? It's not for me... God only knows how people with children and not a lot of money make that decision, I don't envy them.

For all those people who can afford to go, i'm not condemning anyone. I sincerly hope y'all enjoy yourselves on the 11th and i'll see you on the 16th in Manchester
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Bottom line, if you can't afford it, you can't afford it. I know that sounds harsh but people need to know their limits. In college I saw PJ a shit load using my student load refund checks, if I didn't have that money I probably would not have been able to see them so many times in 03-06. This tour I'm seeing them once because that's all I can afford and really that's fine with me.

Guess we're all in the same boat more or less. I can pull it together for the 31st if I have at least another week to do so, but not overnight. I am grateful I will be there the 30th and hope it will work out for the 31st if that happens. It's just not the cost of the tickets but the added hotel charge and eats add up in a hurry. If it's meant to be, it will be. Good luck to everybody and hope you at least get to one show this year.
