I think this album is really shaping up nicely..I can't wait!

    Ive heard all 5. But I think its difficult to rate the songs Ed played live becasue they very well may sound different on the album. I personally think the songs Ed played will sound 10 times better with the full band.

    i'll agree w/ everyone else & say that i'm looking forward to hearing the Ed songs w/ the full band & better sound quality. this is shaping up to be a great, great record. 8-)

    I think I agree completely, except maybe I like Got Some a little more than you. But I'm very pleased with what I have heard so far, and there seems to be a nice mix of music in these five songs.

    I have a feeling the full band version of Unthought Known may be epic and some of the lyrics are as good as Ed has done in my book (for anyone freaking out over The Fixer's lyrics, go hunt down the lyrics to UtK and The End it should ease your worries a bit). Actually, if they do a full band version of The End, I feel the same way. I just hope all the members add something to these two songs, or Ed lets them be creative. Some of Ed's recent numbers that we heard solo sound worse with the band because you've got four members basically following the song and not creating around Ed.

    I'm thinking BoB pushed the band to go the extra mile musically. That's what I hear in The Fixer, even if the lyrics are on the simple side.

    What version of Speed of Sound are you listening to? The sound quality on the Hawaii show is excellent!

    I'll give "The Fixer" a 4 out of 5 (which equals "excellent" in my book).

    I'll give the Conan performance of "Got Some" a 3.5, but I have a feeling the album version will raise that up to a 4. I haven't heard the other songs, so I can't pass judgment on those.
