Barclaycard thought 10C was a fraudulent company!!!

I had to share this with you guys! So I'm at my desk in work this afternoon, pretending to be working but actually watching the clock tick over to 5pm. I head over to the 10C Goods section, add the tickets to my basket, head for the checkout. Everything is going remarkably well and there's no sign of any problems with the site...

I clicked on the confirm order button... "Card Denied!" What the feck? I retyped the cad number in case I'd been a tool... "Card denied!" In a bit of a panic, I called Barclaycard to see what was going on. My card has been hacked in the past so I was starting to worry. After answering all of the security questions I was passed to the 'Fraud Prevention Supervisor'. He said there were some suspicious activity on my card over the last few weeks...

"Do you know what a 'Ten Club' is sir?" Yes I do, I'm trying to order something from them online now.
"OK, there have been various diferent transactions, of varying amounts, over the last few weeks so we have placed a block on your card as a temporary security measue. Are you aware of these transactions?" Yes I am.
"Could you confirm the amounts please?" I can't remember the exact amounts but I know when the transactions took place.
"What were they for?" some new music from a band (O2 tickets, The Fixer, Backspacer cd, Backspacer vinyl, SBE tickets) He didn't have a clue so I didn't go into detail.
A few minutes later... "OK, I have unblocked the card for you. You may confirm the transaction now. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you enjoy the club!" Cheers!

If that had been for an actual ticket sale, and not a lottery, I would have been screwed. There's no way I could have gone back to get them before they all sold out. As it was I found it quite amusing that 10C was blocked purely because I spend so much on here! If I don't get 10C tickets in the lottery I'm going to report the Barclaycard guy for spreading negative vibes and jinxing my chances!

(im sorry those guys were total tools though!) they should have called and asked you about those transactions before blocking your card.

  • Exactly the same thing happened to me with Barclaycard last week - I didn't have a problem with tickets for the O2 or Wembley in 2007 but they decided the $12.98 for The Fixer 7" was suspicious!

my bank did this to me TWICE! They blocked it after I bought tickets for 3 shows in '07, then they blocked it again when I booked flights, hotels and train tickets around the 3 shows in '07... idiots!

Happened with my Seattle 1 purchase, just as well that went pretty smoothly and was able to get mates onto it in time before it sold out.
