Saturday is going to be a busy day. Not a whole lot of conflicts for me but a lot of bands I want to see pretty much back to back.

    Deer Tick
    Alberta Cross
    The Felice Brothers
    The Airborne Toxic Event
    Citizen Cope
    Bon Iver
    Levon Helm
    DMB

I can't agree more with this. At least PJ is getting 2 hours - I was scared they'd only get 1:30-145

Agreed, last year the Foo Fighters only got an hour and a half in the same slot

What are everyones thoughts on the schedule? Conflicts? Must-sees? Take a pass?

I think it overall worked out pretty well for me except I really wanted to see Brett Dennen but don't think that will happen as I want to have a decent spot for PJ,

i honestly don't think my wife & i will have any conflicts on Friday & Saturday. Sunday is a different animal entirely. mainly, Dead Weather vs. Ben Harper & Dan Auerbach vs. Sonic Youth. we want to see all of those bands/artists, but we really want to be close for PJ. this will be my wife's 1st time seeing them live and she wants to be as close as possible. who am i to argue with that? ;)

This will be my first time it ACL so I am by no means an expert but I think the Ben Harper and Dan Auerbach will be tough to see if you want a decent spot for PJ.

My conflict is Pearl Jam and Sonic Youth, they are both 2 of my favorite bands, being Pearl Jam numero uno, Sonic Youth is my husband’s favorite band after PJ but there is no way we can catch them with that time slot, they are playing different stage and the finish their set right at the time Pearl Jam starts so no go there for us :(

It kinda sucks given that Sonic youth never ever plays in Florida, last time I saw them here was 2000 when they opened for Pearl Jam but its not the same as seeing them in a show of their own … oh well… at least we are getting 2 hours of Pearl Jam :D

They can be my guest and move Sonic Youth from Sunday to Friday, so long it doesnt conflict with Kings of Leon :D

I will be right there with you. I am not a huge DW fan but hear they are great live. I am starting to think I will probably hit up Barton Springs stage for the Toadies and not leave (except for beer runs).

That would be awesome, but what exactly does that mean though, that they could do an aftershow? Like when?
Im sorry this sounds like a retarded question, Im a festival noob, I havent gone to a festival since Woodstock 1994

I am an ACL noob as well but from what I have read a lot of bands play at local bars/venues after the festival ends at night. It is especially great for ACL because of the early end time. Below are a couple good sites that offer great insight into everything ACL and Austin.

    http://www.austincitylimits.com/forum/

    http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/ ... tin/music/

I am sure some of the folks from Austin can speak to this a bit better but hope that was helpful.

As the festival gets closer, many bands will play aftershows in Austin area clubs from Thursday-Sunday. These generally start around 9-10:00 and occur at clubs in downtown Austin, which is fairly close to Zilker Park. ACL will make an announcement as the fest gets closer on who plays, where, etc.

If you are signed up for the ACL e-mails, you will get sent an e-mail informing you of all the aftershows and how to get tickets (you do have to purchase tickets).

Let me know if you have any questions or is this made no sense whatsoever.
