sleater-kinney were a cool band.. This is what I mean about Pj fans attitude towards more indie bands like sonic youth and SK. I'd say someone like Bruce Springsteen though.

yes...kidding. i know how much hate there is for my girls around these parts. i have a feeling we may get a special guest performance or two with the band, but i really don't think there will be a high-profile opener. just my opinion.

no special guests please! I am not refi'ing my mortgage and then taking out a 2nd one to hear other musicians. I want our guys and that's it. I appreciate the idea of something unique or different but I just want PJ!!

Ed handed me a pick at sleater-kinney's last show. They are infinitely cooler to me for that reason alone. F the haters.

Dead Milkmen!! I was hoping for this - them, or The Misfits/Danzig to go along with the Halloween theme.

Alice in Chains have a new cd coming out in Sept and will be touring...they are open for the Philly dates.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

um, it has nothing to do with 'pj fan's attitude' and everything to do with me simply not enjoying their music. i am sure, outside of our mutual love of pearl jam, that we both could name band's the other would love or hate. and so it goes with something as subjective as musical taste. i do not care for sleater-kinney, nor sonic youth for that matter.....but i adore modest mouse and death cab for cutie, for example...so no hate for indie bands in general.....just differing tastes.

and no matter WHO is the special guest, even someone i love, i still would prefer an evening with pearl jam. absolutely tho, would be way nicer if there is a special guest, that i enjoy their stuff...and if not, oh well.

Although I would like an "evening with Pearl Jam" like so many others on this board, Alice in Chains is an opener I could be very excited about. I saw them a couple of years ago in Winston-Salem, NC and it was one of the most fun shows I've been to in a long time. Even without Layne they are a great act.

I'd still probably prefer an evening with Pearl Jam, but I wouldn't object to some AIC to start things off. Don't think it will happen though.

well that certainly plays into it....but yea, i just don't like their music, her voice, etc. i really don't think it matters why i don't like em, i just don't like em. i don't hate em.....they just don't do it for me. so yea, if given the choice...a lot of other bands i'd rather see/hear.....even someone new, i love being exposed to new music like that. i was trying to be diplomatic about it, subjective tastes and all that, ya know? :P however, given the nature of these shows, last shows for the spectrum...just would be nice for it to be something special is my thought.
