Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

i agree - it allows them to experiment with some songs they have not played in a while and test out new music a la Gone - Borgata

no such thing as a bad pj show but i wholeheartedly agree. this band is so much better when their only agenda is to melt our faces.

Well i'm working on a small sample size here, but yes the two shows i saw in 05 and the two i saw in 08 were FAR better than the 06 show.

So technically is the Toronto 09 show an "album tour" show or "non album tour" show?

don't think one can really compare the '05 and '06 tours, because both were strong on their own merits,...

Hahaha!!! I was wondering about that too!!! Does that mean that because we haven't heard the album, it's a "non album tour" or because we know 2 songs already, plus the name of the album, it doesn't count...?! Still, I'm pretty sure the show will kick ass. Last time they were at the Molson Amp (2003), they ripped the place apart!!! Poor Santana; I think he was playing the night after or something like that!!!

    i'll agree with this.

i am soooo ready for some new material. it was great getting to hear some rare gems the past couple years, but even that.....go to a few shows and you heard the same rarities. :P don't get me wrong, no complaints.....always LOVe pearl jam live, but sure....guess i was very fortunate, saw them all these past few years, a few shows each year.....and yea....i am sooo ready for some new pearl jam music LIVE!
    Stay with me...

I prefer non-album tours also. Love hearing the rare gems that pop up. Granted, we did get Leash on the Avocado tour. So that is the best of both worlds, especially when you are at the show where they bring Leash back, debut Parachutes, and throw in smile for good measure!

There is no way, we will get "no way" on this tour, so that sucks. I'll "settle" for Oceans, and the entire new album played over the Toronto and the Spectrum shows.

Gorge '05 was the best show I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. But the '06 run in SF was primo too.

I think if you're a setlist lover, non album tours are the way to go, but I think they definitely sound tighter on album tours.

I'd have to agree and disagree somewhat that non album tours are better. Now I always have an amazing time at every PJ show I go to. But I'd have to agree that some of the best shows I've seen were in 'O5 and '08, and I like how it gives them a little more room to experiment with songs they don't usually play as they don't feel a need a play a bunch of songs of the new album. But every tour, even the ones promoting albums are great and always have a few really outstanding shows, Mansfiled (Boston) '03 for example.
