Acoustics question for Spectrum vets

Got tickets to both Philly shows and we'll be in the same area both nights. Section 301, row 12 on the 28th and Section 302, row 15 on the 30th.

Has anyone been in that general area for a show before? If so, how's the sound (generally speaking)?

The sound has gotten better down through the years. I've been to well over 100 Spectrum events of all types and haven't had any issues in the last decade. I sat in 301A , Row 9 , Seat 5 , on 4/28/03. The only issue I recall was a couple folks behind me questioning why I had to stand up for the whole show. I've sat in the 300 level a few other times at the Spectrum ( Bruce more than once comes to mind), and I've never had accoustic issues. Just the aforementioned casual fan issues.

Oh yeah, and ticket price issues. The tickets were $37.00 then ( I just checked the ticket taped in my program).

Excellent sound in the Spectrum. Not sure exactly where your seats are without looking at map. Was at a Dead show there in May and set 3/4 of the way up the 2nd level (300's) in corner at opposite end from stage and sound was very good. Surprisingly clear. Was at last PJ show there a few years ago in 2nd to last row of 300 level opposite end from stage and still very good sound. Been to Phish shows in 300 level directly to the side of the stage and still great sound.
Biggest problem with the venu is the crowded concourse (although won't be as big of an issue for a band like Pearl Jam compared to Phish or the Dead who has a longer set break). Bathroom lines tend to be long and poorly ventilated, but not much different than a summer show in Camden.

I lived in Philly all my life and seen many shows at the Spectrum including Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Page & Plant, sporting events etc. and I always have said concerts sound much better in the Spectrum then they do in it's older brother the Wachovia Center. I will actually be there Tuesday night to see a show. I guess it's a nostalgic thing for Philly fans. You get that warm fuzzy feeling when you walk through the doors.

I have 10c tix for the first night and will be in section 318 for the second.
