Just saw Les Claypool this past weekend, it was pure bliss... he's a great performer and he never disappoints.

flea is an obvios choice. Listening to him was what made me start playing bass. john Entwistle was amazing.
I'm a big fan of Tim Commerford of RATM aswell. Big driving bass, always steps up the songs a notch. Also he owns a Double neck bass a la Derek Smalls
