To the perosn who reviewed Avacado before...

Who remembers a post that had a complete song by song review of Avacado before it came out?
The person definately heard the album because the person mentioned details such as Eds laugh in "Life Wasted" and the keyboard/vocal reprise...
Has this person heard or will they have access to "Backspacer" anytime soon?

Are you kidding me, Clark?
minus the purple rain ending....
While im in a good mood!
I actually dig the "Purple Rain" ending. If you are going to "borrow", borrow from a genius.
The following is a review from an anonymous fan. It is NOT me and under no circumstances will the fan's name be divulged so don't ask me.
WARNING: SPOILER REVIEW Its not a great review, but it's a tough thing to do. Short of giving specific lyrics, time lengths, etc. I tried to describe each song as best I could. Overall, I'd say this album resembles No Code the most, in that they have tried a lot of new stuff. As you all know, its impossible to say that any 2 PJ albums sound alike, and this one is no different.
LIFE WASTED: great, rocking opener. Ed's voice sounds very raw. The song is built around a riff that sounds like its being played by Stone and Matt's pounding drums. The bridge is mellow, kind of cheesy, but then Ed chuckles at the end of it and it rips back into the chorus. This album will definitely take a toll on Ed's voice, as the singing is very raw, like we've heard in Crapshoot. The song fades rather than coming to a loud, abrupt end. This is up there with Save You/Hail Hail/Grievance/Brain of J in the category of great hard, punky songs by this band.
WORLD WIDE SUICIDE: you know it.
COMATOSE (Crapshoot): again, ripping, raw vocals. Starts with just a driving distorted guitar and Ed singing. The guitars are loud on this, with Stone playing a short, slow solo at first, then it sounds like Mike takes the actual solo, which is also pretty short. You've all heard the song.
SEVERED HAND: This is more of an epic track, starts melodic, but then rips into a kick-ass guitar riff. This is the most addictive riff that I've heard PJ play on an album in a long time. Its like a rapid-fire assault. The other guitar is playing sharp, high single notes. The two sound amazing together. Lyrically, this song is not something that listeners will fall in love with immediately, but the music will stick. The band sounds amazing. Fairly long guitar solo towards the end.
MARKER IN THE SAND: Again, Ed is really straining his voice during the verses on this. The chorus is lighter and slower. Not really a heavy track, but another cool riff in this one. No real solo, and the bridge is just music. Its really hard to compare this one to anything they've done before.
PARACHUTES: Reminds me of Around the Bend a little bit. Very light and soft. No real chorus to this one. Ed tries to hit some high notes on this one, but I can see him screwing up the lyrics live. A slow, constant drum beat, with what sounds like two guitars plucking and one strumming.
UNEMPLOYABLE: you know it.
BIG WAVE: Wow. Again, Ed tearing his voice up on this one. The chorus is fast, and will be tough to perform live. Only 3 minutes, but the band is on fire. There is a guitar solo that leads into the bridge, which then fades out--kind of weird. Cant wait to hear this one live.
GONE: Ed's voice is deep on this. Sounds just like the versions we've heard at the beginning, but then the drums come in and the chorus is actually up-tempo and fairly rocking, then the song slows down again for the next verse. He stuck with the "nothing is everything" lyric towards the end.
WASTED REPRISE: 50 second version of the chorus from 'Life Wasted' with what sounds like just Ed and Boom. Incredible. Ed sounds amazing. Its pretty haunting. Sounds like something you'd hear at the end of a tragic movie when the lead character is lying in a coffin.
ARMY RESERVE: Another cool guitar part on this. Lyrically, Ed is singing more on this one than the others. Tempo-wise, I would compare it to Education maybe. Not sure what I think of this one yet.
COME BACK: This song belongs in a lounge in Vegas. Ed's tone is similar to the Vegas 2000 version of 'Cant Help Falling in Love.' Vocally, it is unique in that it doesn't sound like anything he's done before. Musically, its nothing special at all. Matt playing a fairly constant beat. There is an electric guitar solo towards the end. The song reminds me of the Righteous Brothers. This should probably be the album closer.
INSIDE JOB: Dark beginning, with an acoustic strumming and a soft-wailing electric in the back. The keys on this at the beginning remind me of 'November Rain,' quick and loud. Ed comes in really soft, unique singing style that we haven't heard from him before. The first minute is just music, then soft, timid vocals. No drums until the 3:40 mark, where it picks up in tempo. Many people speculated from the title that this would be about 9/11, but I don't think it is. By the end, the tempo is completely picked up and sounds like a completely different song. It starts with past regrets and ends with future optimism. I can see this being performed like Present Tense--just mike, ed and boom to start the encore, and the whole band jamming by the end.
after 5-10 seconds of silence, there is a 30 second guitar/keyboard instrumental that reminds me of one of the instrumental outtakes from Binaural/TB2K--really high guitar notes and a haunting organ in the back.
sit tight all, only about 5 weeks until the official release, and i'm sure it will leak before then like everything does these days.
