PJ songs you once despised but...

But now you appreciate?

For me it is "In thin air".

Hated it at first, thought it was a lame stab at a "last kiss" type song.

Now I love the song. Can't explain the change of heart....

    I was meh on the record and saw it at Toronto 2003 but it was a week start

    I didn't despise it, but felt no love for RVM. Then I saw several versions of it live on youtube and fell in love. Now it is one of my favorites.

    for me it's Who You Are...i dunno it was just too different and i always skipped that song...but i've heard it a bunch and i wouldn't say it grew on me...but i realized i was blind (or deaf rather) to it's brilliance and i now dub it my favorite non-ed written song...the tribal feel really puts you in awe...i love it

    EDIT: for some reason my keyboard didn't type the whole word "Who"...fixed it now

    Rats and Nothing as it seems are 2 of my favorite songs...How could you hate them?

    Rats was the hilight for me from the last Camden show
    and nothing as it seems..is erriely good

    I hate CROPDUSTER, that song is beat..

    and the best non regular album song is SAD, from lost dogs...a classic

    Sweet! I love Around the Bend as well. I just never listened to it, but after really getting into the Benaroya album I just love it.

    The songs I first didn't care for is probably Wishlist and maybe In Hiding. I really like both of those now.

    Army Reserve - skipped it many times at first now one of the first songs I listen to on Avocado.

    I said it once, I'll say it again...Parachutes is awful and I'll never warm up to that song.

    it seems like what i've noticed...both with myself and others, one may not really like the song but once they hear it live, even on a bootleg, they start to grow i liking to it...i mean a lot of the songs we've mentioned were so-so recorded but extremely amazing live

    it's amazing how just the pure energy of a song makes all the difference in the world...i was just watching Imagine in cornice last night and the part about his theory if the energy of a fan after a show has a healing power...i believe that's true...i must say a Pearl Jam concert especially during specific songs is very much a religious experience....

    I could never hate or despise a PJ song, but I never really got in to Wishlist. And I agree with everyone that says hearing PJ songs live is significantly better than a studio album. Hmm...I wonder why their shows are so popular?

    I used to feel that but the last couple of nights I've had the album in my car, I'm enjoying it more. Not loving, but enjoying - an improvement.

    I could add Rats and Lukin - I wouldn't say I quite despised them though.

    Oh, Life Wasted is another song for me that I didnt like right away either. But I really enjoy it now. And LW is an example of a song that I started to like once I heard it live.

    On the other hand. I really liked the studio Inside Job, but dont like it live. It just comes accross more bland live than it does on the disc.
