My 2 Cents on Adding the 31st Show

I would love the 3rd show in Philly.
But I think it is pretty crappy of a move on the part of Comcast.
Release a statement saying the final show at the Spectrum is going to be the 30th.
Advertising it as the last show.
Local media running that story.
Getting the hype machine going.
I am sure they give "scalpers" a chance to buy great seats. Scalpers selling tickets for the final show at the Spectrum for more money then normal, with fans having to pay that extra money.
Then when people are done getting rich.
Comcast says, O we lied, final show is now on Saturday now.
I think that is false advertising.
Again I will be there is it happens, but I think it is shady on the part of Comcast and 10C for at least not acknowledging the chance of an extra show being added before the first two shows went on sale.

The 10/30 show would have sold out regardless of whether it was the last show at the Spectrum. If anyone is that upset I am sure that you will be able to sell your 10/30 tickets and buy 10/31 if it is that important to you to be there for the last show. But there are also going to be people upset if another band plays after Pearl Jam. People get pissed when bands announce "farewell tours" however they get over it. You go to a concert because you like seeing a band perform live not so that you can brag that you were "at the last show in the spectrum" or "at the Rolling Stones last show ever".
Life could be worse... you could be a 12 year old soldier in a militia in Uganda.
Hail, Hail!!!
THey did the same thing with the Springsteen shows up at Giants Stadium...first 3 shows went on sale, billed as the final appearances at Giants Stadium, only to add 2 additional shows.
This happens all the time...it's not just Comcast.
As far as I'm concerned the more shows the better. I hope they announce 5 more shows
I think the point that you're trying to make is that essentially what has happened is a sales-driven scheme. They, meaning those at Comcast, KNEW from day 1 that this show would take place, AND most importantly that it would be the final show at the Spectrum. That said, what they did was to release the first 2 shows, with a story along with it, making people think that THESE were the last 2 shows, but in reality they had an ace up their sleeve. This whole thing was planned out perfectly as a very (in my opinion) shady marketing scheme, one that I'm a little surprised that PJ would have anything to do with.
Because THAT has a lot to do with the topic. Thanks, nice constructive addition to the conversation
Hey... I'm just saying... there are a lot worse things that could happen than not being at the last show of the Spectrum. Just trying to add some perspective to the 'problems' some people face.
Hail, Hail!!!
Ummm, 10c did say additional shows are possible, it says right under the list of dates that possible future shows can be added
"(Note: Potential additional dates and corresponding on-sale information may be announced at a later date.)"
I am in a militia, but in Somalia. Does that count?

You got it.
Thanks for seeing my point.
I guess it all depends on which side you're on.. the killer side or the killee side.
...
See, there's an upside and a downside to just about everything.
...
Point being... just be fucking glad there is ANOTHER gig in store. It is not going to diminish the show that's the 'Second to the Last show'. if that is one of your problems in life... then, your life is a fucking GREAT life. Don't sweat it.

Never thought I'd see the day.
I get your point, but this really wont matter for anyone who really wants to go see the band.
Nuclear fission
It was a sales tactic and it was to be expected. They didn't want to sell out 10/31 but have thousands of tickets left for 10/28... so, they announced 10/28 first. It is what it is.

And there you have it...
No secret dealings... no underlying conspiracies... just business.
We don't know the specifics of the contract agreement between and management and concert promoters/venues. Bands will often times confirm dates with ensuing tentative dates to be announced/confirmed depending upon the sales rate of the confirmed shows.
It's a business... a business that wants to sell concert tickets.
