I agree I wasted over almost 2 hours trying to get tickets. I got through 3 or 4 times and clicked the buy button and it sent me to a page that wouldn't allow me to complete my transaction. I have been buying fan club tickets for years and every time they have a pre-sale they can not handle the volume and the server crashes. Hopefully one day they will get a server big enough to handle the fan base. PEARL JAM is the best band in world and the Ten Club website is a third world site.

Here is what I got when I finally had what I thought was a chance to purchase Philly tickets.
PEARL JAM PHILADELPHIA 10/30/09 TICKET PAIR
SKU 7296
$167.00
THIS IS FOR TWO TICKETS TO THE PEARL JAM PHILADELPHIA SPECTRUM ARENA 10/30/09 SHOW.

Ten Club is hosting a pre-sale for eligible members, active as of July 7, 2009

No phone orders. Eligible Ten Club members are allowed to purchase two (2) tickets per show. Ten Club tickets are available while supplies last. For wheelchair accessible seating, please call 1-800-724-8038 before placing your order.

By selecting to purchase Ten Club tickets, you agree to all Ten Club ticket policies:

⁃ Two (2) tickets per show. No single tickets.

⁃ Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and allocated by membership seniority, with the exception of rows 1-2 and rows 9-10 which will be used for RANDOM distribution.

⁃ Tickets are not mailed in advance. Tickets are distributed at the venue on the day of the show.

⁃ The fan club member must collect the tickets with a valid photo identification. No exceptions.

⁃ Purchasing Ten Club tickets means you agree to all Ten Club ticket policies and distributing procedures.

⁃ Reselling of Ten Club tickets will result in cancellation of ticket purchase and revocation of all future ticket benefits.

⁃ All ticket sales are final. No refunds. No transfers. No exchanges.

⁃ All dates are subject to change.

Questions about Ten Club tickets can be directed to tickets@tenclub.net or by calling 800-724-8038 (international rates may apply). Your patience is appreciated.

so whats the difference between those that got tix and those that didnt?
    dumb luck?

    I think not.

people were still scoring tix 45 mins later

internet speed and persistence pays off as far as I can tell-wireless networks wont cut it when you have this type of demand

and the servers are a heck of a lot better than they used to be

of course thats easy for me to say
  • i wonder if it ever occurs to people its probably their crappy internet connection.

Nah, I'm on 8mbit cable and all of the errors I got were the same as everyone else. First time I've been shut out, but not the first time I've seen all of the errors.

I can tell you that my connection is just fine and I tried for almost 2 hours to get these tickets. Also it's not like this is the first time that this has happened on presale tickets. It happens every time they go on sale.

i had no problems with any of the west coast sales
i had very few problems with MSG last year when it was in worse shape than it is now!
it is called demand.... and it probably more their internet bandwidth than the server! like thousands of people trying to enter the spectrum through only 1 door!, it jams up! 8-)
    2003 - Sydney x3,
    2006 - Reading Festival,
2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,
    2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,
    2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,
2010 - I watched it go to fire!
    2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,
    2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,
    2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

Listen people I have been all over the Us and the World to see this band. My number is 119444 and I have been buying tickets through the Ten Club for years now. I can tell you they have had problems from day 1. The server isn't big enough to handle the demand and that is sad since this is after all 2009.

    ya mon
but if you have been around then you know that we are talking about maybe ten people in a warehouse running the 10c

they are not a major corporation-and the sales dont go down often enough to justify bucking up for serious server-99% of the time the servers are just fine

in this case its simple, these are the only northeast shows and every member within 200 miles of philly, along with a bunch from far far away, were trying to get tix

Id bet the 10c was just as surprised at the response

    Cry me a fucking river.

    IT FUCKING HAPPENS.

There are way more people than 10c seats. So a few get the tix. You're not the only one.

Ten Club LLC is not Amazon.com

    /story

They have upgraded and I think everything runs great. The only time I have ever been shut out of tickets is for the Vic. From '05 till now I have got tickets. I can tell you the server problems of today seem like a cake walk compared to the '06 tour.

You are a fucking idiot !!!!!!!!! What was your first clue you dumb ass. The point is the server needs to be upgraded to handle the demand. I am sure if you look around a corner near you you will find a clue for sale.

So how much money do you think they should throw at the problem then? Im guessing that you think that Ten Club LLC should take out a $100,000 loan and dump it into some crazy server that can handle amazon traffic. Is that is? Is that what you want? If so you are the one that needs a clue bro.

Limited tickets, high demand mean some people wont get them. There is another clue for you.

(I am not a technology specialist)

I sympathize, but unless you are on a T1 or T3 line, your connection to your server is not as fast as your server's connection to the Internet. DSL and cable lines are notoriously slower for upload than download, and you are uploading your requests when clicking "buy", "continue", etc.

I have nearly 100% success getting 10c tickets at work (GB Ethernet to a switch to a T3 line: 44000 Kbps) and 0% success at home (Ethernet to a DSL modem: 25/15Mbps). What seems like crappy servers is really a product of the faster connections getting there first and clogging the lines... people accessing Ticketmaster have the same problems, and their servers are likely more robust.

  • Wow...that's all, just wow.

Side note: I've never had a problem getting tickets through 10c. Ever.

I love threads like this from people so obviously ill-informed about internet sites and server operations. "Oh something crashed - the server is not good enough!!!"

As a web developer and host, there are numerous internet issues that can cause issues such as this. There are often times when large internet sites go down. CNN, google etc regularly go down when massive traffic hits the site. Facebook and twitter have had moments. The US Gvt site has gone down. Facebook dedicate an entire rack to their chat application and numerous other resources for their other applications.

This site runs a program called dupral, while not my choice (I use Joomla), it is a perfectly reasonable open source software solution for websites such as this.

People have just got to get over it and understand that while infinitely more repliable than phone, fax and snail mail - internet sites are not infalible and take a lot of skill and inginuity to maintain a constant service.

Hey man I understand your frustrated about not getting tickets and I see your point. To be honest (saying this in the nicest possible way of course) I think your overreacting a little bit. Bottom line is not everyone was going to get tickets no matter how you look at it. Yeah it sucks you didn't get tickets but why don't you look at the glass half full instead of half empty? Saturday morning get up early and prepare yourself to be one of the first to buy tickets on Ticketmaster. Trust me its not that bad! I've bought tickets for PJ off there a couple times and have NEVER gotten a bad seat! I even had 13th row at the NY 1 Eddie solo show! :D

Actually back when we mailed a money order or check for tickets I never got shut out. I wouldn't necessarily say it's more reliable.

i wonder if it ever occurs to people its probably their crappy internet connection.

No, it is not their internet connection. Terrible comment.

    apparently not.

explain because i have never had problems getting 10c tickets, i have a 10mb line, i am in and out in under in minute, in fact for both Seattle shows in was able to log out and log back in under a friends account and still get a 2nd pair of tickets, all in less then 2 minutes. Basically, demand and crappy internet connections are the 2 main reasons people don't get tickets.
