Ya GOTTA go to https://secure.pearljam.com/store/produ ... tegoryId=3 so you don't have to screw around with the thousands of others in the "goods" section. I got my tickets to both Philly shows within 5 minutes.
    interesting

dude it's huge. You can be logged into that before the sale starts and then just refresh that until the tickets appear. A lot of people get fucked by crashes waiting for the "goods" section to change to the secure site

the goods section is all a secure site, the link that is being trown around is basically a no frames version meaning that none of all of the background colour is there, less to load up, that is all.

if you are entering your CC details on an unsecure site, then you are an idiot

As disappointed as I am that I was once again shut out of tickets, I still am tired of hearing the debate of whether or not the Tenclub is doing enough to satisfy it's members. There are several things I wish were different about the current ticket system. However, this fanclub is far better than almost anything else out there. They aren't perfect but they are trying. Do I wish I could have got tickets to ONE of these shows...of course. Do I think it's unfair that someone who signed up for the Tenclub a week ago got tickets yet after 14 years as a member I didn't...yes. Do I want to put my fist through my screen every time I get the "buy button" only to be told tickets are "temporarily out of stock"...absolutely. Do I think it is a little unfair that some members are on here bragging about how they bypassed the system and got tickets to multiple shows while most of us got nothing...yes, but...congrats to them for being resourceful and I hope you all truly appreciate how lucky you are and that you thoroughly enjoy every show you get to attend. DO NOT take it for granted. Do I wish that Pearl Jam would do a full tour instead of announcing a handful of sporadic shows at a time...yes, but I understand that as the band grows older they develop more responsibilities and cannot spend all of their time on the road like they used to. This band and this fanclub still do more for us (the fans) than most.
As frustrated as I am that as a 14 year member who for the 4th time in 5 recent tours will once again not have fanclub tickets and will probably have to resort to paying a ridiculous price to a scalper to get a halfway decent seat, I will be thankful that it could be worse. I could be a Creed or Nickelback fan who I'm sure would have no problem getting tickets for their bands' shows because no one in their right mind would want to listen to that bullshit. Depending on how you look at it, it's unfortunate that OUR band is still relevant, true, and absolutely f**king kick ass after all these years. If they weren't, none of us would be on here complaining because tickets to see them as a washed up act at a state fair would be easy to come by. Here's to hoping more shows are announced soon and that we will still be on here fighting for tickets in another 10-15 years!

That being said, I kinda hope Teejam11 gets a horrible rash the day of his/her show ; )

    "Good Enough"
  • Pretty happy. Have had ups and downs. Probably 7 of 10. Love/hate relationship...however my last show was EV 5th row, so I'm leaning towards love! Site crashed a couple times today but was still successful for SD. Server improvements could go a long way...

I'd give it a very solid 9......the only thing I'd change is make it limit 1 pair of tickets to the entire tour at first. Then release the remaining tix the second day of the onsale to members to buy more than one show. This way everyone gets tix to at least 1 show before anyone buys multiples.

I remember back as recently as 2000 we could only get 1 pair for the entire tour.

The system works perfectly. It might be a bit frustrating, but all the tickets get sold and everyone has an equal chance of getting them before they go on sale.

I couldn't make it to either of the on sales, so I had a friend sign in and get them for me, so there really is no excuse for not being able to participate.

No matter what the system there will be flaws, but I think the one they got works fine.

It works for the Ten Club staff cause they don't have to handle any mail/money orders, works for the 10 Club members cause we all know when they went on sale and had plenty of time to arrange for our attempts.

Some will succeed and other will not. Totally fair.

Compared to most other bands, 10C is much better at ticketing. I had a friend who literally had to knock at the back door at the Post Office to get his Tool Fan Club Tix. My only gripe is the "temporarily out of stock" function that keeps you hoping for an hour 1/2. Aside from that, pretty good IMO.

  • i have got tickets from ten club for every PJ show i have been too , this will be number 5 i believe
the server needs some work and almost gave me a hear attack yesterday but overall no problems
just have to be patient when purchasing tickets online

I wholeheartedly agree!! Especially after making rows 1-2 and 9-10 random, the system is about as good as it could get. All the people who got shut out, that is what the public sale is for. People get shut out of Ticketmaster sales too. Nothing, and I mean nothing can be done to make everyone happy. The system in place works the best. PJ likes to keep things as indie as possible with regards to its fan club, and i for one really really appreciate that. I would HATE...and I mean HATE it if PJ decided to outsource the Ten Club to anyone else. And that included Ten Club tickets outsourced to Ticketmaster.....that would suck large donkey balls.

Keep up the good work, 10c. See you fools at both Seattle shows!!

Problem is with the demand and not the system! Case closed. Two shows on the East coast with fans that will and do travel to see them is the problem. Not announcing the whole tour part of the problem because people freak out that there won't be a show near them so they plan to travel. I have a pretty good feeling that there will be more cities included on a Summer 2010 tour.(Don't know about the South!) Enjoy the music people! I know it's nice to be in the club seats, but sometimes you can get a different feeling and perspective while watching the show from farther back. ie- I sat in the nose bleeds almost behind the stage at the Spectrum in '03 and had a blast-great sight of the stage, crazy fans below, the loudness... For me it's all about "being in the room" with the boys.

    Case reopened.

I've had issues where the TC site will show "buy" then I click it and it shows a pair of tickets in my cart. I proceed to check out and their site has a glitch and removes the items from my cart.

I can understand many people seeing the "buy" button, and they didn't click it in time, but when it's in your CART and removed from the cart when you're trying to pay for the item, that's beyond supply-and-demand. That's a problem with their website, is what it is.

I give kudos to the 10C for giving us more advance notice, and for staggering the on-sale times.

The system doesn't have enough capacity, but this causes everyone the same disadvantage, so its not as if anyone has a lesser chance then everyone else.

Though I work with software I have no idea how much servers cost. Is it cost effective to upgrade the fan club servers to accommodate extreme demand for just a few days every year or so? Most of the year I would think they have no need for the super servers some are asking for. Waste of money since they sell out anyway.

They should just make a deal with Ticketmaster, and do the presale with them. Each member would have their Member Number as their password AND this would open up 100% of a venue to TC members.

This is just such a simple solution to so much of the ticketing concerns, I don't see why this isn't taken seriously.

Shut out of all Philly shows and am now victim to the general public. Unbelievable traffic. Got to log-in page, logged in and and then nothing but Internet Explorer cannot display...over and over again. I would rate it a 6 out of 10. As posted earlier, no one should be able to renew or get a membership too close to ticket sale date. Tha said, who has an OCT. 30 ticket for me? Come on, you know you do!

This makes sense, but I have trouble seeing them utilizing Ticketmaster for dealing with 10C. I know that most of their concerts are sold via TM, but that's out of necessity, not choice. To extend the "partnership" would seem pretty hypocritical... to me, at least.

Me too, BUT in 2006 in VA Beach it was "Bud Light Presents Pearl Jam" on the list of events, whereas most other bands had no sponsor. This was the same night that Ed thanked Ticketmaster for providing low-cost tickets to servicemen. And in 2008 we saw Verizon Wireless gigantic advertisements on both sides of the stage, as well as Verizon Wireless on a mini Pearl Jam poster with their picture.

PJ is obviously compromising their previous stance to cash in. How about compromising it for the convenience of their fans too?

All good points, but they didn't engage in a long, drawn-out court battle with Verizon or Bud Light, whereas they DID lead us to believe that Ticketmaster was the devil.

If comparing 10C to Ticketbastards 10C wins hands down.

    10Club
1 in a mad dash at go time with my heart fluttering hit the buy button --- 2 get through the name/addy page, oops time out start over --- 1, 2, 3 Success --- 4 pick up tix at 10C will call and know that seats will be good cause the 10C takes care of the fans. Fees are only about $15 per pair more than face and my BP returns to normal.

    vs

Ticketbastards (been a while but lets see if I remember)
1 in a mad dash at go time with my heart fluttering fill out a sh!tload of fields --- 2 hit buy button --- 3 enter that stupid a$$ code that one time out of threeI can't even read --- 4 wait for that "page will refresh in 1 second (if you live in Pluto time) do not hit your back button" page while having a heart attack and not knowing where the heck the seats I draw will end up being --- 5 seats suck but I buy them anyway for fear of being shut out then --- 6 go back to step 1 and try for a better pair cause 9 times out of 10 the 4th or 5th draw will be better than the 1st --- 7 either finally get something halfway close and now have to find someone to buy my extras or I settle for the 1st draw and try to do better in the parking lot day of show. Fees were more than $15 EACH more than face and I feel like I've been mugged!!

yeah, kudos Ten Club, I love you guys!!!

    It sure can be. :)

But PJ has criticized other artists for taking on similar or smaller corporate sponsors, like the Jewel rant Ed did just a few years ago about a disposable razor endorsement. And also how PJ wouldn't play in an arena until the arena covered up the fixed Bud Light venue sign. They've gone 100% the opposite direction now with Bud Light, Verizon Wireless, Target all paying up dollars to PJ.
