Just curious about everyone's experience.

Rate the ticketing:

"Good Enough"
or
"Dear God, fix it!"

I'm still waiting for Halloween so I'll rate after my attempts afterwards. :)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

For the two most in demand shows of the tour, I think it went OK, philly II was as hard as MSG II last year

there has to be a better way than that bullshit.. I mean I got tixs to both shows so Im happy but surely there can be a sister site dedicated to all things PJ ticketing because this site just isn't equipped to handle that kind of traffic we saw.

    Usually, I like it.

I would prefer they had more shows, which would ease the demand for these tickets. And I wish we were given *a little* more heads up when tix went onsale, but this time was a little better. At least it was a week later.

Not liek last time, where they were like,
PJ ANNOUNCES TOUR, TIX ONSALE TOMORROW (tuesday) at 10am.

Kinda blows for anyone who has a job.

I wish the times were all on saturdays, so I wouldnt have to leave early to "go to the doctor".

    again.

I agree. I did get tickets for phili2 after about 45 minutes of trying-But its not fair for those who did not get tickets-to pay for a tenclub membership and not get to go to a show!! The site needs to be fixed!!!

No site can handle excessive volume for a show. In Philly's case, you have the entire eastern seacoast, the tri-state area plus people nationally & internationally wanting to go to this show. I thought this year was light years better than MSG. If you thought today was bad,go to comcast tix online at 10:00 on Friday. For Bruce in April I was in the que for an hour & a half before I had a chance to even order tickets. Bruce doesn't afford his fans the opportunity to purchase in advance,PJ does!

It is what it is. I got shut out completely (as I have 4 of the last 5 times trying to get Tenclub tickets) but the Tenclub does all it can to try and make this work as smoothly as possibly so kudos to them.
It is a frustrating process though, especially when there are hundreds of tickets already on Stubhub and the general onsale hasn't even begun. I think the 2009 Christmas single should be titled "Temporarily Out Of Stock" B-side = "Refresh" : )
My suggestion would be to stop announcing days before a ticket announcement to "make sure and have your membership up to date" so that people can't sign up 3 days before a pre-sale and get tickets ahead of someone who has been in the Tenclub for years. If you can't keep track of renewing your membership then it's your own fault if you miss a pre-sale. The cutoff for pre-sale eligibility is way too close to the actual on-sale date.

I got tix to SEA X 2 and SD.

Had to play the out of stock game for a bit on SEA night 1, but you know going into it,its going to be a fight and you may lose.

You also had to know with all the big east coast circle jerk that Philly was going to be the bitch...

I would give the current system a thumbs up-

I got tix to both...that being said...I think its in the middle...things could be better, but not really the ticketing system. Realistically they cant buy the entire venue for the 10C...that being said, they know they have rabid fans that travel ALOT to see them. Now there are one off instances where this will happen, like Philly, where its the only stop in the northeast...and I dont have a problem with how tough it was to get tix if this ends up being the only northeast stop, its be expected if thats the only city in the area that gets a show. However, if in a few weeks they add NYC, Boston, DC, etc...it kinda sucks. Sure everyone says "Awesome go to all of em", and some do, but alot just do a few and this would open up more seats for those in their closest cities.

    I thought 06 was easy.

Except for having to cancel all my meetings, and going to a library so I could get computer access.

It is what it is, unfortunately. There's just no way of making it perfect. I've never been shut out but I can definitely sympathize with people who do get screwed over, for whatever reason.

I DO think that the practice of announcing the tour in chunks does nothing to alleviate the pressure, though. In fact, it encourages people to travel outside of their regular "showgoing radius" to markets like Philly, which end up getting flooded. I would think that if people knew exactly what their options were from the get-go, they'd be far less likely to spend the extra $$$ on travel if they could see PJ in their own backyard.

Nothing earth-shattering in that, but again, I can appreciate people's frustrations and hope that everyone can see the boys play soon!

I voice A LOT of complaints regarding the 10C and ticketing in the hopes that they will hear them and make changes, but the system has improved:

    1. One week notice, unlike Chicago and Toronto.
    2. Staggered sale times.

3 things I would say they still need to improve:

    1. Site should not be crashing, a lot of people are trying, but I would guess its still small compared to the number of people that are on, say CNN or Amazon around the world at any given time.
    2. Stick to seniority because I think it is a great way to keep scalpers out.
    3. FOR GOD'S SAKE ANNOUNCE ALL THE SHOWS! There will be empty seats at Chicago because a handful of people in LA, SEA< SD and PHI decide its not worth it to make the trip anymore.

    I'd rate it a 6 out of 10. Minus 1 point for 1 and 2, and minus 2 for point 3.

i have never been shut out of a philly or camden and I couldnt get tix for either night. very frustrated. even more pissed when the BUY BOx comes up and you still cant get them. They really need to fix that. Get your hopes all up and then pull the rug from under you. This really sucks. I keep going for an hour and 14 minutes and got the buy box 13 times and no tix. VERY FRUSTRATED

this system is garbage. they need to redirect to another dedicated server to handle this kind of load (and yes there are servers that can handle such loads).

give me the old mail order system any day over this internet presale bs. i see no fairness doing it this way. so some members get multiple shows, and then others don't get any shows!? and i'm SO SURE all those tickets are actually going to be used by members! yeah right! seems a bit against everything the TC is suppose to be IMO.
guarantee you'll see these tix up for sale, somewhere and the night of the shows? and what do scalpers care? so they get their membership revoked. OOOOOH! so they paid $25 to make like $500-1000.

    oh well, maybe next time.

Worst ticketing experience yet!!! In the past it may have been just as slow but at least you could hit refresh and end up at the same spot!!! This time you had to scroll and click through the ticketing menu, then scroll again.....Horrible!!! Did we really need to see this information on the ticket purchase page???

Ten Club is hosting a pre-sale for eligible members, active as of July 7, 2009

No phone orders. Eligible Ten Club members are allowed to purchase two (2) tickets per show. Ten Club tickets are available while supplies last. For wheelchair accessible seating, please call 1-800-724-8038 before placing your order.

⁃ The fan club member must collect the tickets with a valid photo identification. No exceptions.

⁃ Purchasing Ten Club tickets means you agree to all Ten Club ticket policies and distributing procedures.

U2 through Ticketmaster was very easy.
  • They should do it like they do sports tickets like the Red Sox/Yanks at Fenway...there is a form, you fill it out and send it in, you have a drawing, those people chosen randomly get access to buy, they use a virtual room, you wait there, and then get chosen to buy....makes it a lot better than the clicking frenzy that this was.
  • this fucking sucks... i can't believe i didn't get tickets this year!

    I rate it as GREAT.

I'm 15 for 15 getting tickets during these internet presales (including both Philly shows). There are tricks of the trade that you need to know though. You have to go to the SECURE site (https://secure.pearljam.com/store/produ ... tegoryId=3) and skip all the traffic on the "goods" section of the main site.

Not too bad. Seattle II was cake, but Seattle I was another story. After just about giving up after 20 minutes of trying with the site crashing, temporarily out of stock and the buy button showing, but not going through, I was finally able to get them (with the help of my friend's faster internet connection).
Overall it was okay because I got both shows, but I still don't know why 10C can't get the amount of tickets they used to. I remember reading something about ticketmaster not allowing them as many now. If someone has info about this, please let me know. Also if it is a matter of TM not making as much of a profit from an event because 10C doesn't charge all the fees, I would be more than happy to give TM their damn fees if it meant not being on the verge of a stroke or heart attack when trying for tickets.
