I think the biggest reason isnt that we are "sick" of these songs or even that we dont like them live. Its the fact that i would like to trade those spots in the set list for something more rare. If we could take out the 6 or 8 songs we have all heard and trade them in for lost dogs tunes we would all do it in a heartbeat.

Seriously how do you not like Given to Fly live? When the second part of the song kicks it is one of the most energized part of the show! Too each thier own though.....

    PLAY TREMOR CHRIST!!!!!

I wouldnt mind never hearing last kiss, crazy mary or small town ever again, and I wouldnt mind if even flow, dte and corduroy werent played quite as frequently. And for some reason, I could do without glorified g altogether. Never liked that one, studio or live. But hey, the rest usually makes up for it.

I think this whole thread, and the idea that we think we can expect to control these types of things is utterly ridiculous. Do you know how lucky we are that Pearl Jam switches up their setlists EVERY NIGHT and the extent of the variety they give us? Some bands play the exact same setlist every night for certain tours. And some bands play their biggest hits every single night because that's what they think is expected of them. And some bands record albums and play just the hits from them, while leaving certain songs out entirely for the rest of their existence. Yeah, it sucks that they have only played No Way 3 times. And that they've never played Hold On before. But just think about that, we complain about these facts when some bands let more than half their catalogue rot and be forgotten about because they are too nervous that the "casual" fans will be disappointed that they don't hear their favorite song, i.e. Even Flow or Better Man if it were the case with PJ.

Good point, we all love Pearl Jam here and I guess over-familiarity sometimes breeds contempt. Really, the very best thing about the group is that you never know at the beginning of the night what is in store for you.

However, there are a few songs that are overplayed and I think Even Flow is getting a bit tired as a ten minute epic. I'd rather see Porch or RVM become the huge number mid-set for a couple of tours.

And I think they could shake up the last songs a little. I'd like to end the night with mamasan, that would be a blast this tour.

They cant put evenflow on the shelf....

That is my cigarette/piss break song....

And my entire concert experience would be all out of whack.....if they put evenflow on the shelf...

I am sick of Even Flow, but Mike does a great solo and there's plenty of casual fans who attend PJ concerts for the first time, and this song is known as a concert staple. And how could you consider taking a piss during PJ? I'd sooner piss in my pants than walk out of one of their concerts. There's lots of songs we diehards have heard too often live, but they do a good mix of popular hits for first time concert goers, and rarities for those of us who have heard just about everything live they want to hear. I could do without hearing Last Kiss live again, but there are people who go to their concerts who want to hear it. Out of the 6 shows I've seen, I've heard it twice, so not too often really. I'd like them to come up with something other than Yellow Ledbeter as a concert closer, not because I don't like the song but because I know the concert's over when I hear it!

Maybe we should start up a No Way thread. If the band gets wind of us wanting it, they may play it. It worked for Leash didn't it? I've heard that twice live since the song was heavily demanded by people in this club.

You know, last summer we took our boys (then nine and eleven years old) with us to Mansfield 1; it was cheaper than hiring a sitter for the weekend. :) My nine-year-old's favorite songs were "Black," "Betterman" and "Dirty Frank." Yeah, he's an interesting kid. Anyway, my younger son was just wild with joy when "Black" and "Betterman" were played back to back, and I have to say that the audience response on "Betterman" that night was the most fun our family had had together in years. Those songs are staples, but now both of my boys are just wild about PJ and hoping like anything that I get tickets for them on Friday.
