but that tune never gets old to me.
"There is always some kid who may be seeing me for the first or last time, I owe him my best. " - Joe DiMaggio
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez
I certainly would not mind seeing DTE every friggen show I go to.
seriously, on what planet would you NOT want to hear these songs for the next two tours????
i can see not playing them every show but really, shelf them for two tours?????
that's just crazy talk.
i personally look forward to hearing each and every one of these at least once or more live each tour and would be quite disappointed if they were taken out of rotation for even one tour.
jimed14, i like the diMaggio qoute
Get it now, get enough, before its gone, let's everybody carry on, carry on....

I'm a Red Sox fan, but, that quote always stuck out to me ... got to respect that attitude.

Are you kidding me?
How can ANYONE get sick of hearing Alive or Corduroy?
8/7/08, 6/9/09
hahahaha.
Agree with this statement completely.
Now with that said, I would like to see them mix it up during two day sets.
I don't think DTE or GTF ever get old, but knowing that these two songs get played every day, I would feel better if they played them once during a two day stint.
Night 1

Almost all of those songs are in the 50% club, meaning they are played over 1/2 of the time since their debut.
I love them all, and the casual fan really has more of a right to hear those songs, and it would suck if they didn't.
But with those 10 songs played EVERY casual fan will be gorged on greatest hits and there will be plenty of room for Lost Dogs, new albums, and science forbid some heavy rotation of "NO CODE"!!!!
Betterman
Do The Evolution
Given to Fly
Fussy as iam, just want to hear songs i havent heard before
That show would suck. There's a reason those songs are staples. I was at the Vic and while it was cool, it was clear something was missing and there was a reason a lot of those songs aren't played often. The lolla show would have sucked without all those songs getting played and an arena show where 85% of the venue doesn't know a single song in the set? That would be the shittiest, least energized show in PJ history.
And if you wanna shelve hit staples, Given to Fly goes before every single song you listed.
Well considering that these are pretty much the biggest radio songs the band has ever written, I think the chances of these being shelved on this or any other tour pretty unlikely.
It would be like going to McDonalds and finding out that they've taken the BIG MAC off the menu.
God, you're such a selfish prick. Don't you know there are like 10 people in the arena that night that have seen PJ 87 times and are sick of hearing Even Flow? And you have the nerve to ask those 10 superfans to sit through classic rock songs just so that you and the other 18,000 people in the venue get to hear a song you love live for the first time? The NERVE of some people!

Cordoroy, Betterman and Alive are three of my favorite songs live. The crowd interaction on Alive gives me chills everytime. I have a love/hate relationship with Yellow Ledbetter because I love the song/guitar but know this means that the show is over!
I understand not wanting to see these every night, but it is critical to weave fan favorites like these in with rarities and covers to complete the Pearl Jam live experience. I've had friends attend their first PJ shows on the last two tours and these songs were highlights for them...now they're fans for life.

Uh...no.
And PJ KIdd, since this will be your first time seeing the band, I cannot wait to see your Fanviews after the shows. I hope you have as good a time as I did when I saw them for the first time.
