Croke Park, Dublin Ireland - U2 Show

Going to see U2 at Croke Park in Dublin next week. Any PJ fans ever traveled to Dublin before; if so any advice on the best way of getting around the city would be very much appreciated. Also, if anyone has ever seen a show at Croke Park I would love to hear your reviews. Thanks!

As for gigs in the stadium, the sound was really good on pitch or in the first tier (which is the biggest tier), but pretty shoddy in the top tier (like most stadiums with three tiers, the top level is higher than the speakers, so the sound suffers up there). U2 are on the few bands that can pull of a stadium gig, its a spectacle, and the crowd are all into it, so it is a good experience.
Where are you staying? The best way to get to croke park is to walk, and if you want to be at the front at a U2 show in Dublin, you need to queue from the night before. Its like a trip to Mecca for some people.
The city centre is really quite small, so getting around is handy by taxi, but theyre kind of pricey.

I'd walk to Croke as long as others are walking with you. The area isn't terrible, but walking alone in Dublin, let alone in any city that is unfamiliar, is not cool.
Go tour the Guinness factory! It's very touristy, yes, but it is pretty cool. If you're looking for good eats I would try Cafe Milano in the Temple Bar area (best pizza I've ever had), and the Queen of Tarts bakery on Dame Street (great pastries).
If you're going to be in Ireland for a while, I'd go up to Galway (great night life). Cliffs of Mohr, Lahinch (small beach town, but great surf), stuff like that.
