Did anyone order tickets in the NIN presale? If so have you had any emails recently telling you where and when to collect tickets and anything about the 'special early entrance'?

Going to see them on Tues in Manchester and haven't had the email yet.

I'm going on Wednesday and haven't heard anything but have been told the e-mails usually go out 24 hours before.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Cheers, starting to worry a little, we're due to drive to Manchester tomorrow afternoon and there's still no sign of the email!

  • I've been on holiday so i don't know of this email... more to the point, I didn't know you were going to the Manchester show, Strummers! :?

    (i'll check my mail now)
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
  • No email as yet.

Hmm... Here Strummers, if you see me (wearing an old tye-dyed blue NIN ripped and customised t-shirt, denim skirt, black leggings and big fook off boots), do say hello innit... i'll be with audiodave and Housing Jim :D

Oh yes! Was very disappointed by the crowd though - we were jumping up and down and singing along (especially my other half) being respectful with and and trying not to distrub anyone else too much. We were on the rail to the left of the stage, and the people around us were compaining because we were moving too much and singing. What the?? You're right at the front of a NIN gig - while I really not one for moshing or having a crowd too crushed and violent - Jeez people move around a bit and enjoy it!! I was expecting it to be sooo much rougher, which in a way I'm glad it wasn't, but the total lack of crowd involvement did dampen the atmosphere a little.

Regardless was a great gig and had a huge lump in my throat during Hurt!

Sorry Sian, don't think I saw you. We were right at the front on the left hand side - didn't get there till well late either so was a bit amazed to get that close - no chance of that happening for PJ!

Took some photos - will put them up when I've had the chance to clean them up.

Jane's were cool too - Perry is cool, and Dave - mmmm!

    +1

Although I was a little disappointed with the set at Manchester... I really wanted Discipline, Ruiner, The Good Soldier or God Given :(
We were about 6/7 people from the front on the right side... dancin' like mofos

T'was an awesome gig though. I really enjoyed JA... much to my surprise

(Mew were pretentious shite IMHO though :D )

Ah don't worry! :) I considered shouting "STRUMMMMERSSSS!!!!!" at one point but Dave discouraged it... i'm sure you're thankful of that

Hurt also gave me a lump in my throat... mainly because I was stood with two HUGE NIN fans (Dave and his friend) who couldn't quite believe it was the end and without even looking round I could guess their expressions :( I'm just soooooo glad I got to see them a couple of times before Trent ended it.

While there were a few songs I would've enjoyed hearing, I was much too happy to be there at all, despite a (still :( ) busted leg.

Edit: Agreed on Mew though. Got there for the second half (?) of their set, and all I could think when they played that last song was 'Oh God, power ballad alert!'

While JA's stuff was being set-up where we were we could see Dave taking a peek at the audience before they came on and he gave those of us that could see him a few waves with a huge grin on his face ... and yep mmmmmmm about sums up my reaction!

Thanks - yeah it's a good one to sneak in and get some cool shots, and the zoom is great! Can't wait to test it out on PJ - still haven't got any really decent photos of them live yet!
