Rory Gallagher

I have seen Rory Gallagher mentioned on here before and I have never heard of him. What are some good songs or other stuff to check out. Thanks

I'll second the recommendation of Irish Tour. Live in Europe is also awesome.
Studio albums: Blueprint and Tattoo are excellent, Tattoo'd Lady and Million Miles Away off of Tattoo are two of my favorite songs. And as someone else said, Deuce is a great album. Actually, Deuce is pretty stunning -- when you're hear the whole thing, I think you'll wonder why this guy isn't ever mentioned on the usual magazine lists of musical greatness.
Man, would have been awesome to have seen him play -- did anyone here have that chance?
Irish Tour is a must own!
Best part of the evening: Before the show my husband and I were talking with our friends about what songs we hoped to hear. I was wishing he'd play Laundromat from his first solo album, which didn't seem very likely. So during the show our friend John was down at the front taking pictures. Rory was tuning his guitar between songs and John said, "Rory, how about Laundromat?" Rory nodded and spoke to the other guys and that was the next song they played.
By the end of the show all of us were down in front. Rory had put down his guitar and was coming around shaking hands with people. So John suddenly lifted me on to the stage and I gave Rory a hug. He looked at me like I was out of my mind and said, "Uh, thanks" and I jumped off the stage. My husband said something like "Well, that was stupid!" and teased me about it for years.
Really, my husband was the lucky one, having seen Rory several times. He became a fan when he saw Taste open for Blind Faith ( I know, I know  ), then saw various solo shows along the east coast, where Rory seemed to be more popular. He didn't come to Texas very often. One of my husband's co-workers goes to the Rory Gallagher festival in Ireland every summer. We've talked about making the pilgrimage and I suppose we might one of these years.
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Yeah man it fucking rocks!
I'm going to give Deuce a listen.
Speaking of Taste, they're pretty cool too. I like his solo stuff better, but in my opinion, Taste was totally keeping pace with all best bands of that time before they broke up. Apparently John Lennon was a Taste fan.
I wouldn't mind catching that tribute festival myself, or at least seeing some of the tributes to Rory around Ireland. I know there's a theater or two named after him and a pub if I'm not mistaken, a bronze replica/statue of his strat in Dublin. Plus a bunch of festivals in other countries.
