Well, this is certainly excellent goddamn news. As much as Los Angeles is a steaming cesspool of shimmering bullshit, there's no place on Earth where magic happens as often or intensely. Now the real question... if we can only pick one show, which LA show should it be???

Hailing from Michigan, I refuse to believe this is IT for Pearl Jam's North American tour in support of their NEW album. I refuse!

They must come to Detroit, and I mean Detroit Rock City, not AuburnfuckingHills before Xmas 09. That's all Whitepants is going to say on this issue.

I sure wish they'd play more than one Texas date. Austin City Limits is a gret festival, but what are the perks of being a member whenever I can't even buy tickets? Ever heard of Houston? Dallas? Or just boycotting Texas still, along with REM? Come on down, we love you here!

Sorry to be a whiner but no love for Phoenix? the US' 6th largest city yet no shows since '03 ?!?!
It's nice here in the fall. Not like the steaming 9th circle of hell it is this week!!
Come in October you can party with Bono!

And no weekend shows in Cali for those of us who have limited $$ or vacation time. I'm happy for those who get to go to one or more shows but this sucks for everyone not on the coast or not fiscally solvent enough to travel any more in this economy. My best bet at this point may be San Diego, fingers crossed.

Last whine: WAHHH, announcement 1 day after the end of the US Air & SW Air fare sales with $60 RT PHX>SAN !?!?!?!?! The stars are just not aligned for the desert dwellers. Almost makes a gal want to move back to NYC (but not quite).

On the plus side, nice to see the staggered times, primo seat lottery for those who don't have a 10C # good as mine (lot of fnckin' good it does me!) and limiting LA to one show per. All sounds pretty fair to me.

    Peace,
    KJ

i wonder if they will do an opening acoustic set like they did in boston years ago for the philly shows, is that why there is no opener?

would love to see R7, album is great. check out "fly one time" and "shimmer and shine' if you havent yet.

NOT AT ALL HAPPY! Just how many times are they going to go to Europe and Australia whilst they ignore half of America? I really feel slighted. Chicago, not my fave city, is the closest they've come to the midwest since 2006. I just don't get it. No Indy, No Cincy? No Cols? No Lexington? NONE? Between their overpolitical stance which I don't agree with and this, I'm really losing interest. I feel that I've been betrayed. How many times can they play in LA? I'm beginning to think they're in it primarily for the money. I used to think PJ really appreciated their fans......... Again, LA of all places? Well, Conan is there now but that's about it.

Somebody made a great point about the NBA schedule. All the venue's scheduled do not have NBA teams. Once the NBA schedule has been announced (end of July/Early August) we might see some more dates announced.

Seriously. "Rinky dink city?" I had to pick myself off of the floor. Since when are tours arranged around vacation destinations? There are plenty of places of interest in the midwest.....not all farm towns and Plains, not that I personally would have a problem with either of those! Believe me, I have travelled extensively in the past to see PJ. Many of my fave shows were NOT at the Major cities. I saw them at the Greek in LA. Beautiful place and I even had 3rd row center seats. But the "fans" in the front row were so obnoxious and disgusting, it was difficult to see the show, let alone get over PJ catering to them. It was so disgusting.

Regardless of my financial situation, I simply do not have the time to travel about to see PJ or any band. Someone mentioned most of the band now having families. Many of PJ fans also have families and other responsibilities. I think a few shows spread throughout their many "mini tours" would be nice....these few this tour, a different few the next.

And leave the politics for rallies and such. I want to see PJ perform their incredible music. I'm not their to see them promote or bash the current Administration........let alone when I don't concur!

I think they may add some more Texas dates in those additional dates. Remember back in 03, they played Houston, and San Antonio, and played Dallas two months later. That is too small of a roster to be a tour especially considering it is like multiple shows in a couple cities. I'm remaining patient. I look at it if they tour here, cool, I'll be there rocking like a mother f*cker. If not, oh well, I can't chase em across the country as the funds don't allow, nor do I really want to when they can come here. At least I have ACL to look forward too. Better than the last tour. We got absolutely nothing.
