I lost it right then and there. So emotional, until that point everyone seemed so fake. A little girl lost her father a lot of people are forgetting this. She is a very pretty young lady, and a brave one at that. Very mature for her age, she understands her fathers impact.

Well it was nice to see the Jackson children properly after all this time. I've no doubt they will be well looked after by their uncles and aunts.

Blanket was born by a surrogate mother with Jackson's sperm.

Have to agree with you...watching that beautiful girl express her heartfelt love and grief for her father was soul wrenching. And that is the bigger part of the picture- three beautiful kids have lost their dad. Though the world has lost a great talent, those kids have lost much more.

Apparently Debbie Rowe made a statement recently saying Prince Michael I and Paris are not MJ's biological children. I wonder who is then?

I hate to break it to you, but IF MJ was the father, those kids would DEFINITELY look more "African-American". And that's a fact.

    RIP Michael.

That's what I think. None of their facial features are African American and the oldest two have light colored eyes.

The eldest 2 are not from MJ at all... Debbie Rowe and a Donor

The 3rd Child (Blanket) is speculated to be from Jackson & a surrogate mother, who is to this point unknown.

so sad seeing that little girl. Seeing her speak, kinda hit home...although he may have been a world famous talent and then to all of us turned into a spectacle... he was still a father to that little girl and that for just one moment, put it into a different perspective. I hope the media leaves them alone and respects their privacy. It's not their fault they were born into this circus.

Yeah...i've felt really sad about the lack of the human element in famous deaths lately....MJ's most. I thought I was going to cry today at work when I Want You Back came on the radio. I didn't cry over his death, sad yeah, but at that moment I felt really weird and felt bad about the way he was treated.

i'm just watching the memorial on vh1 right now since i couldn't see it this morning, but i did see the clip of her at the end. for a child to lose the only parent she ever knew, god....it's heartbreaking. i feel so bad for those kids. they're gonna need all the love and support they can get from family right now.

As a father to a 12 year old daughter that I'm primarily raising I felt and understood what Paris was saying and feeling. My daughter would've been the same way had i passed away. That's the only clip I saw of the Memorial.

That's a feeling no child should ever have to face.

it was bizaare that this is the first time we have really seen the kids, or heard any of them speak. MJ was so protective.

Great speech. The memorial was fitting and touching.

I think it was important that his kids saw his real legacy, as they did today. I think it was Al Sharpton who spoke directly to them and said, "your daddy wasnt wierd, or odd. What he had to deal with was odd, and he dealt with it".

I think as they are approaching the teen years, their friends, I dont know if they go to school or not, or whoever, are gonna try and tell them their dad was strange or a child molestor or what have you.

I think the ceremony was great in that respect. Paris, Prince and Blanket got to see what their dad meant to the world, and that he wasnt odd.

and I also think this in many ways proves he never hurt or touched a child. Ever. He loved kids too much. Not romantically, but he cared about them.

Its sad indeed a man who obviously cared deeply for the wellbeing of the children of the world, and his own, spent the last 15 years of his life, being accused of maybe the worst thing anyone can be accused of. And in many ways, the public viewed him as guilty, reguardless of the innocent verdict.

    Very sad. MJ was innocent.

music is a relatively small act. It takes talent and dedication and all that, obviously. But in many ways, its a simple act. Getting on stage. And playing an instrument. Or singing or dancing.

Michael Jackson meant something to alot of people. Myself included. It felt nice to get to see him respectfully paid tribute to. In essence he just got on stage and sang and danced. But that simple act touched the lives of millions of people.

I remember an article a few days ago that mentioned the revolution in iran. and the author suggested that the real revolution wasnt in iran. it was michael jackson. It was the fact that when he moonwalked, millions of people tried it. Or the fact that millions knew his songs, and some dressed up like him. Some tried to dance like him. That is the real revolution.

    I agree completely.

You've got to be shitting me. Michael Jackson was not a revolution. This is beyond ridiculous. Wake up and see the real world and the issues in it. MJ hasn't been relevant in 20 years.

"Relevancy" is generally subjective but in Jackson's case it's factual. Anyone with a working brain, with any sense of music history, and a shred of impartiality will acknowledge his impact and relevance. Saying that he hasn't matter in 20 years would push us back to 1989 and, wow, is that a display of a huge blind spot. Or just a hate on for MJ.

Either way, the memorial was brilliantly well done; sad, uplifting, cathartic to many, I suppose. Yes finally seeing the children and particularly Paris as flesh and blood instead of mysterious shrouded creatures was a a bit of a punch.

But, to me, the single most clarifying, downright luminous moment was hearing Paris call him "daddy". He was "daddy". Probably the nicest thing that I've ever or will ever hear Michael Jackson called.

excellent post. couldnt agree more. MJ's impact as I said in a previous post is incalcuable.

The memorial couldnt have been better.

So it really is Blanket huh? I thought I misheard wolf blitzer.

I watched some of the media coverage on MJ but didn’t watch the memorial. I figured it’d just more of the circus that is/was MJ.

Agree, those kids don’t look a bit African American. But he was dad to them so…

youre not looking..they're definitely his kids..lookit the eyes on the eldest and youngest..and Paris has his face shape especially his chin when he was a little boy. But it's all in the eyes. Also-Michaels father and grandfather both have blue eyes. Paris also looks a lot like Joe Jackson

what would it matter if you were right? He obviously raised them since they were born, reguardless of who is the biological father. He was their father. He was there.

Paris's words confirmed for me what I always thought. Michael was a great father. I dont believe he ever laid a finger on his kids, and I dont believe he did anything to anyone else's.
