Saw Candlebox last night- 7/6/09

Candlebox show was awesome. Been awhile since pearl jam has been to Texas but we will get them in October for ACL. It was great to finally see Candlebox live. Great live band. Very energetic and fun.
Kevin Martin is an amazing vocalist and frontman (matter of fact I voted him 2nd best grunge vocalist on this board in a few polls).
They Played mainly new stuff from "into the sun" like "stand", "into the sun," how does it feel" Surrendering, A kiss before, miss you, breathe me in, you, cover me, change, rain, far behind, arrow. He calls home.
Suprised they didn't play "simple lessons or It's Alright" considering those were two big radio hits.
Did a sex on fire tease from KOL and a 70's rock medley consisting of: Crazy train, Highway to hell, and a zeppelin song (name escapes me right now: I know I hang my head in shame) :0. Edit: it was Immigrant song to start the medley thing off.
Got to meet Kevin, Peter, and Scott, after the show. Didn't get to meet Adam or Sean. Got the new disc signed for me and a friend.
Man what a great show this was, and it just amazes me how awesome it is that I finally got to shake Kevin's hand and look him straight in the eye, and say "Thank you." Just to hear someone tell stories about Seattle before everyone got big was great. He said he grew up in Houston too, which was cool cause they played like 3 extra songs for us. Peter can rip on guitar, just amazing.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy.

I've never heard of either of these songs. I've never heard anything by Candlebox on the Radio in the NW other than the stuff from the 1st album.
i am a massive candlebox fan, really love them. although i am pretty sure i'll never get to see them live because im in the UK. :(

Gabers- Kevin said they would be coming back next year. "He said, "Houston, you want us to come play for you next year? so they will hopefully be back soon. HOB was a great place to see them play. Only bad thing was HOB does not allow taping so I was not allowed to videotape the show even though Candlebox has an open taping policy. If venues don't allow taping it's void.
Wish I could have seen them last fall or winter when they toured with Carribean royal (Dave Krusen was playing Drums) in the band.
