Did MJ like any modern day Rock music?

I know he had respect for the hip hop scene, but I dont remember him ever commenting on other bands that were popular when he was at his popularity peak. Did he ever talk about Nirvana, or Pearl jam? Did he ever talk about any other rock bands?

I remember the MTV VMAs in 1992, where Nirvana had an MJ impersonator accept one of their awards. I wonder if MJ liked them after that pisstake:

Spears is nothing more or less than pop music. Covers don't count.
Who cares?

I'm delighted to see that a healthy appreciation of the sarcastic post still thrives on Internet message forums. [/more sarcasm]
