It's not just a rumor anymore! John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and Josh Homme (QOTSA) are working together on a new project - Homme's wife Body Dalle confirmed it yesterday.

Check out the details here:

OMG I think I'm more excited about this than a new QOTSA album  Not to mention a potential album with Homme and Mike Patton. That's the most exciting article I have read in a long time! Thanks for posting!

I just came across this ...

it could be great, it could suck a big bag of dicks.

I'm betting on the former, but, we'll see.

I can't bloody wait for these sounds to come out. And as for the thread title being "a joke," I'd bet that a good half the people here aren't handily aware that JPJ was the bassist for Zeppelin. Sorry to offend your rock purist sensibilities, but that's what people recognize.

    Yielded: Thank you!

People would recognize JPJ as an acronym for John Paul Jones 1000000 years before they would recognize Josh Homme's name.

    Dave Grohl on Drums!!!,
Josh Homme on Guitar and vox!!!
John Paul FUCKING Jones on bass!!!!

C'mon!!! It's impossible for this project to suck.

I think I'm the only person in the universe that does not see the appeal of QOTSA at all and thinks Josh Homme is absurdly overrated as a singer and songwriter.

But JPJ and Grohl as your rhythm section... holy fuckin shit!

And I'll fifth the people pointing out that JPJ is a helluva lot more renowned than Josh Homme can ever hope to be.

Yeah, nobody would recognize who John Paul Jones is...

Yeh you can like both, but QOTSA are bad :P

    Hold on....let's get something straight

    Josh WAS Kyuss.
    Josh IS QOTSA
    QOTSA WEREa great band.

Josh lost the plot after Songs for the Deaf.

But one thing is certain...The 1st QOTSA album is and always will be one of the greatest rock records ever made. I don't understand how any fan of KYUSS could not LOVE the first Queens record.

I will be buried with that album...along with the first 8 Desert Sessions. Some top notch music has come out of the mind of Josh Homme.

I have very high hopes for this Grohl and JPJ project.
  • Where nothing QOTSA have produced since Songs for the Death has been to that standard, I still think Lullabies was a great record, it certainly stronger than Era Vulgaris, which has it moments but Lullabies is a real grower.

The 1st album is great and I do own Kyuss's Blues for the Red Sun on vinyl and like it a lot. Yeah I can't wait for this collab I can't see it failing but then you never know do you?

Ahh, the convenient ignorance of misquoting... it never gets far beyond the telephone game on message boards.

I said the people HERE. As in, this forum. I could be wrong, you guys could all be middle-aged grunge-nostalgia trippers, but for people under 30, like it or not, QOTSA's frontman definitely more present in music than Led Zeppelin's bassist.

Of course Jones is a legend and Homme hasn't made a tenth the mark in the tapestry of rock history. That's not what's being debated.

    .

I still disagree, but let's be grateful that we're part of a music community where most people know both.

Seriously, 2 pages into this and we're still debating the thread title??

I for one am very excited about this! I mean come on, regardless of what you think of their individual bands, these guys are all insanely talented musicians!
