My Morning Jacket Hiatus

Didn't see this anywhere....its a week old....excuse me if its old news.
Not really what I wanted to hear:
My Morning Jacket has a history of performing career-defining shows at Bonnaroo, but they weren't on this year's lineup. That didn't stop drummer Patrick Hallahan from going anyway, as a fan. It's not that My Morning Jacket decided to just skip Bonnaroo - they're not playing anywhere, any time soon. "Right now, honestly, we've just taken a big hiatus," Hallahan admitted to Spinner while enjoying a beer backstage. "We've been touring for eight years straight. We all have other things going on right now."
By that he means, of course, all-star side projects that are side projects for all their stars. Hallahan's been drumming in the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach's solo venture while My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is part of the upcoming Monsters of Folk enterprise (which also features Conor Oberst, M. Ward and Mike Mogis.)
Keep in mind that, although it's been trendy lately for bands to downplay their demise by calling it a hiatus, when Hallahan says that My Morning Jacket is on a hiatus, that's exactly what he means. "Everybody's just taking time off and doing what they want to do," he says. "We're all in our own islands and eventually we'll all swim back to the mainland and get back together."
Okay, Patrick, that's allowed. Take your time, but hurry up. We want to see you at next year's 'roo.

Monsters of Folk should be incredible, and I also can't wait for Yim's George Harrison tribute album.

mmj will be back. they're far from done. they've been touring pretty much non-stop since Z came out. it's just time for a breather.

If it ever comes out. It's been floating around the rumor mill for years... but MMJ did their own album and Conor Oberst did TWO solo albums and tours in that time span... I doubt this thing is anywhere near completion.
It's coming out the same day as Backspacer.
Seriously? Is that confirmed?
Good good
Gutted about the MMJ hiatus :(
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
The release date is at the bottom of the page.
