Yo, Detroiters, come meet Sonic Youth!

My husband is moving his record store to a new location after 16 years of business. The new location is next door to one of the coolest book stores in town, Book Beat. The two of them are hosting a book signing/appearance by none other than Sonic Youth! Come help celebrate the new space and rub elbows with icons! It's Monday the 29th 2:30-3:30pm.

    COOL! Will your husband have the vinyl of The Eternal available for purchase? Mine got destroyed last week :(

    He should, they usually do have the new vinyl releases. I know I still need to get one!

    I stopped in earlier. But it was during work and before SY.

    Cool little place, I'll be back when I have more time to look around. I did notice that Ten found its way to the front of the cd rack. :D

    You noticed that too? Ha... thanks for stopping by... it's still a work in progress, but not bad for moving a store in a day!

    They do have some copies of the vinyl!

    Yah I stopped in around 2pm bought the new Sonic Youth lp some cds and was just browsing around. Looked at my watch and it was 3:15pm! Went next door and was last in line for autographs :) I would have sh*t if I missed the signing after getting there at 2pm hahahahaha.

    Thanks for the heads up. Nice store, I'll be back and the Book store next door has cool stuff also :)

    That's great! Yeah, it was supposed to be more of a joint thing, but it turned out to be more of a signing at Book Beat and afterwards, Thurston came by Street Corner for about 1/2 an hour and shopped for records. It was still pretty cool!
