Don't THINK anyone has posted about this yet. Did have a quick look but apologies if duplicating info:

"According to The Pulse of Radio, SHINEDOWN singer Brent Smith spoke with England's Kerrang! magazine at the Download festival two weekends ago about the possibility of a SOUNDGARDEN reunion. Smith said, "There's talk of a reuniting of SOUNDGARDEN in the States soon. I know actually someone specific who told me that, who is actually specifically in their organization. Kinda told me that they're talking about it."

Kerrang!'s interview with Brent Smith can be viewed below.

An inside source told The Pulse of Radio a couple of months ago that a SOUNDGARDEN reunion tour was in the works for the summer of 2010, and that all four members of the band were tentatively interested.

SOUNDGARDEN broke up in 1997 after a five-album, 12-year career. The group was one of the key acts of the Seattle "grunge" scene and one of its biggest exports, along with NIRVANA, PEARL JAM and ALICE IN CHAINS.

Frontman Chris Cornell recorded three albums with AUDIOSLAVE after SOUNDGARDEN's demise and has also embarked on a checkered solo career. Drummer Matt Cameron plays in PEARL JAM, while guitarist Kim Thayil and bass player Ben Shepherd have kept lower profiles.

Cameron, Thayil and Shepherd staged a partial reunion at a recent Tom Morello show in Seattle, playing a handful of SOUNDGARDEN songs with Tad Doyle singing."
Try to tell me that you love me, throw your little punches at me...

holy fuck let's start the rumors now.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I think Kim, Ben and Matt are better than that... I hope they don't. I'd much rather those three guys got together with a different singer. Post-Audioslave I would have been all for it, but now I think they should leave Chris well alone.

    Why are they better?

Chris makes half of soundgarden at least.

Sorry but given Chris' musical direction of late, I don't see this happening. I don't think Matt, Kim or Ben are cool enough for him anymore.

I'm not doubting his voice at all. I saw him twice last year and I think he's sounds better than ever. It's the sincerity of his music I question. Scream was a pathetic attempt to make it with the cool crowd and it falied.

I'm the only one who doesn't care about reunions... Bands never get it back after they quit together for so long (except Dinosaur Jr.)

chris is still super talented even though his latest is pop garbage. maybe he needs to get back to his roots to remember how to rock out!

STP is another band that still rocked when they reunited recently after splitting in '03.

The Pulse of Radio reports: Ex-SOUNDGARDEN bassist Ben Shepherd allegedly commented on recent rumors that the band was planning to reunite through a text sent to a reader of music industry news site The Daily Swarm. Speculation about a reunion got kicked up a notch last week thanks to an interview in England with SHINEDOWN singer Brent Smith, who said that "someone specifically in (SOUNDGARDEN's) organization" had told him that the reunion was on. Why Smith was the beneficiary of this information was left unexplained, but when asked by text whether he knew SHINEDOWN or had anything to say about a reunion, Shepherd reportedly wrote, "No to knowing about whatever band and that guy should go fuck himself for cashing in on our name as well as saying things he doesnt know."

You tell him man! Shinedown Sucks!

Something has to happen, what is Chris going to do after all this Scream bullshit, i didn't think he do any worse than carry on but it looks like he is at the bottom so whatever he does now surely has to be better. I doubt he will just retire after the scream phase.

    Really? I totally disagree.

The Who rocked so damn hard when I saw them after they reunited...
Jane's Addiction was pretty damn kick ass in their 2003 reunion..
The Black Crowes have been incredible since they reunited..

I could really go on and on. Perhaps you just haven't been to too many good reunion shows?
    7/2/06 - Denver, CO
    6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
    8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
    9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
