I'm enjoying their newest album. I was a big fan of War Elephant, but this one is good too. It comes out next Tuesday but is "out" on the web now.

I really like the first song "easy" a lot. I wish all the songs on the album had similar song structures. I think overall it is a good move for a great young band. I love the lyrics as always with these guys.

anyone else enjoying this or looking forward to it?

Can't wait to hear the album. Just saw them in Brooklyn a couple weeks ago, I was really impressed.

That tour with them and Dawes is going to be awesome.

i like it from the one spin i've given it so far. it didn't impress me as much as war elephant but it's still good. i just started listening to this band and i'm really digging them. they kind of remind me of the tallest man on earth with a good backing band and not nearly as annoying. everyone should at least check them out, and start with war elephant.

i just found out that deer tick isn't even a band. i guess the singer goes by the name deer tick. kind of like bright eyes maybe? or does he play all his instruments, more like a liam finn? anyway, he's great.

i did not know that. i knew the singer was obviously the driving force in the band. I don't think he plays all the instruments though.

I don't think that's true. Deer Tick is a 4 piece band, two guitars, bass and drums. I saw them a few weeks ago and they were very good.

I'll have to check it out as I was born on Flag Day!

    not sure about this....source?

    here's what i found...
    The short version:
Deer Tick is a rock n roll band originally from Providence, Rhode Island. The band is John Joseph McCauley III, Andrew Grant Tobiassen, Christopher Dale Ryan, and Dennis Michael Ryan. The band began in December of 2004 as a drums and guitar duo. Within a few years the band developed into a quartet featuring two guitars, bass and drums, with three members singing and writing, and one writing string arrangements. As of January 2009 they have released countless CD-Rs and one official release, 2007's (and re-released in 2008) War Elephant.
