APW Festival

Anyone going. I live in Oregon and have a major urge to go. In fact my uncle is friends with one of the curators of Liberty State Park and I would assume, one of the people that is involved in managing or arranging the APW festival.
Would be a hell of a trip, but I assume, probably one of the best of my entire life. Never been to NY. Would be a blast.
By the way, whats the origin of the festival name? Being as its in New York, there are few places in the U.S. that are more East, or East Coast, so, why the West in the name?

I went last year and it was a nightmare, mile walk to the venue, 3o minutes to get a beer which you couldn't take out of the beer villages, sound bleed between stages, 45 minute wait to get in, and a longer wait for the train after
food was dececnt though
only radiohead's kick ass shows saved it from being a total failure
perhaps this year they will get their sh*t together
personally, this year has really strong supporting bands. that's what they lacked last year. it's pretty easy to just find a stage and stay there for a little while, but i think it'll be easier to do so this year with the lineup.
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.
sounds like you have a sweet hookup so why not? i didn't go last year (even though I live in Jersey City) but I saw Radiohead when they played there on their own and it was INCREDIBLE
to see them with the skyline and lady liberty as a backdrop....
I'd definitely recommend taking the ferry over the path/lightrail, to me nearly as fun as the shows with the incredible views from the water
'00 12 shows / '03 4 shows / '06 6 shows
'08 3 shows / '09 5 shows / '10 6 shows
